I don't think the f-duct is worth having.

It only can really be used in quali and gives a higher top speed. To achieve the available top speed the gear ratios need extending to take advantage of it. This will then compromise acceleration in the race since they can only use the f-duct in drs zones for the majority ofthe lap the car will be over geared.

F-duct worked before since you could use it on all straights so the longer gearing isn't an issue. under this system it helps as much as it hinders.

I wonder if it's a bit of the reason for merc race pace being shit.

Well it was interesting to hear Mark comment, on being asked whether he he is thinking of retiring, that "this year is too early for me" and that he feels great – he wants to stick around.

That means RIC & VER will need to keep battling it out at TR for more than this this year if they want that RBR seat (assuming Webber stays, assuming they can keep their place on the team and assuming they aren't plucked to go to another team).

Just checked the F1 website and live times for us in the West is 7pm Saturday for Quali and 8pm Sunday for the race.

Will need to check the EPG again when I'm home but I'm pretty sure when I checked it last night it was delayed by 1.5-2hrs. Pretty pissed if that's the case as I like to watch with Live Timing open and my internet connection is unreliable when it comes to streaming let alone the lower quality associated with it.

we are referring to the future, not the past, yes it always has been on live, the confusion is is for the euro races coming up. It seems its going to be on at 9.30 aus wide. So meaining 9.30 in perth = 1.5 hous delayed. And also only in SD instead of HD on one. Which i am furious about!!

the people at ten were stating shit like this is a win for motorsport fans because its prime time on their main channel. I Fail to see how its a win for fans. They are taking it from a LIVE feed in HD to a delayed feed in SD.

I always have the live timing feed running at the same time to keep an eye on sector times, who's doing what when the cameras aren't following them as well as during the freakin ad breaks. I also enjoy posting on a forum in realtime with other fans over East that will still get it live whilst we don't - that sucks ass if they don't keep it live across the board.

it is moved to channel 10 as of april 22nd. have u not seen the ads for super sundays?

its is on at 930 on 10 in SD and not HD, this means no more live f1 for perth, 930 will mean a 2 hour delay for euro races and 1 hour delay for silverstone.

I am really confused in Ten's thinking in delaying telecast to get it in prime time. Most races are in Europe and/or for the European audience which means most of the races start at about 8pm WST - thats 10pm EST. How does Ten expect to get the races on earlier or am I missing something?

i joined tens fb page last night and left my complaint. Just now the channel 10 motorsport fb page put a post up reminding people about the f1 joing super sundays and being on at 930. Immediatley got about 20 complaint comments and then they quickly deleted the post and reposted it again. Repeated almost instantly with 10 more complaints in about 2 minutes lol. Someone start a facebook page for getting it back to one in hd and live!!

im also a little puzzled as to whats happening with the non euro races. the ad for super sunday was saying every sunday 930 pm This makes sense for the euro races. But in the middle of the euro leg they duck over to canada which is about a midnight start here. Will they be showing that live? will it be in hd on one? or will it be delayed? Hard to see them delaying that one. Then you ve got the same issue for Brazil and USA who sit in the same timezone.

Also you have got india korea japan and abu dahbi which sit at mid arvo starts, please tell me we are not going to have to wait til 930 at night to see them?!

Lucky for me I'm going to Syd on Sunday, so I can watch the race over there live (albiet in SD). I changed my flight so that I would be in before the F1 started, 10 don't seem to understand this kind of dedication, I mean, I'm paying thousands of dollars to go to the Canadian GP this year, why would I rather watch a delayed SD telecast instead of the live hd they used to show?

Force India considering skipping FP2 in Bahrain amid safety fears
Force India has confirmed to AUTOSPORT that it is considering pulling out of second practice for the Bahrain GP, or running a limited programme, on safety grounds.

Deputy team principal Bob Fernley said that withdrawing from Friday afternoon's session was being discussed, but that Force India would definitely participate in qualifying and the race.

Several protests are expected to take place later on Friday - traditionally the day when unrest escalates in the troubled kingdom.

"We are just going to look at the programme of what we are going to do now but will look at it for very limited running for FP2," he said.

"We may not run, we may do half a session - whatever it is. We did a lot of work this morning as you saw, we did a lot of our work early on so we have the data we need now, so we can afford if necessary to miss out on FP2."

The team's cars were the only ones to undertake a soft tyre run in first practice, and were third and sixth fastest.

Force India members were involved in an incident with protestors on Wednesday night, when a Molotov cocktail exploding close to their hire car.

Fernley said Force India remained committed to racing in Bahrain.

"What we are doing is a slight rescheduling to meet the requirements that we need to do - and that will take place," said Fernlay. "But we will be there for qualifying and there for the race."

He added: "We are looking at it from the point of view of ensuring the well being of everybody and the comfort of everybody is in place. And that is the key objective for us.

"We have had issues as you all know with things, and we have to make sure that the crew are comfortable in the environment and that is what we are working on. But the crew are totally committed to delivering qualifying and the race - and if it means a limited or no FP2 in order to achieve that, that is the decision we will have to take.

"We are doing the best we can to make sure the crew are safe. We have assurances and I don't believe there will be any issues. There will be protests and I think it was an unfortunate incident, but unfortunate incidents happen. When it is your team it happens to, you have to deal with it in a proper manner which is what we are doing."

He said Formula One Management was 'keen' for Force India to take part in the race.

"FOM is keen for us to participate in all events, but the most important thing is the race. And that is where we will be and that will be the window we are looking at," he added.

Second practice finishes at 15:30 local time. Sunday's grand prix starts at 15:00.
