any recomendations for a new laptop? i have little interest in these things, so help from a guru would be really appreciated.

not looking for game spec, just needs to be ultra fast for net & home office type stuff.

8gig of ram??

probably not a mac\apple but can spend $1k+ if really needed

The metabox/clevo range of laptops are absolutely amazing, i use a high end gaming rig but by the sounds of it you obviously dont need that. Either way they have a very good range of products and the price point in my opinion way out does any of the main stream brands.

I purchased mine through the site listed below and the gentleman was extremely helpful and tailored the laptop to my needs.
