On topic that last shot is the best so far from that day Corbin.

If anyone fancies taking a shot of the moon, tonight will be the best day since 1993. March the 19th is the day of the super moon. Basically the closest the moon gets to the Earth, a once in about 20 year event. If you look outside now you will notice a slightly more imposing moon. /csb

Corbin, what did you do in Ps to get the crisp contrast and reflection on the back of the car?

It's not so much my editing. Its more the fact i took the time to get the car on an angle where there were minimal reflections.

If i get time, i'll make a short video of my destructive workflow.

Cheers guys, thats as tight as I can go on that one. Not as sharp at 100% as I would have liked and already cropped a fair bit. Handheld balancing on a rock leaning out over a pond while trying to track dragonflys in flight was tricky!

so i've made a flickr account, but it wont seem to let me link to it with IMG tags? Can someone explain this to a n00b please?

[FFOUR]
31-03-2011, 09:48 AM
Click on the thumbnail, then click on the resulting image, then right click and select the size you want and then finally on that image right click to get the image address. Used to be a much easier way, perhaps there still is but that's how i do it.

Result should be a link similar to this: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4107/5007570752_52c53c7531_b.jpg , then just add your IMG tags.

A few from the Hipstamatic app on iphone3. The effect starts to get a little same same after a while (I guess to encourage you to keep buying different 'film' and 'lenses' within the app) but it does make them look pretty cool and artsy for a minimum of effort.

Have gone B&W as there is bugger all colour in the originals, sky was black, water was black.

Are those cropped John? If they are can you show an uncropped one to show how far out they are? I imagine it would be fairly challenging to shoot at that distance.

Yeah Luke, Shooting with a 500mm F4. Yesterday I was using the 2x converter but todays wind created too much movement and since it was so dark, wanted the extra couple of stops.

Here is one from today uncropped straight off the card, no converters fitted so just the 500.

All the shots were taken on manual and using a monopod. Tried the tripod and it bugged me yesterday so swapped to the mono.

The outer break is where the action is (@500m out for those who don't know surfers point), everything forward of that is a waching machine
