Hello people,

I know how to grab a whole album, movie or whatever it may be. Downloading a single song for me can not be more of a dick around.

I'm using frostwire although it seems that its been overtaken by virus or ads and it no longer throws up search results properly.

Is there another program out like Frostwire, Limewire or Napster that does a half decent job?

I dowload the full album torrent file, then if I only want a few songs off it I just unselect the rest in utorrent. Almost guarentees good quality, without shitty file names etc and you get the album art :)

If you are using Firefox then get the video2mp3 addon. Find the YouTube song that you want and it will download the mp3 file straight from the clip. Even has a download button next to the video. Very useful for getting remixes that aren't on torrents.
Otherwise I just use Vuze.

Converting videos from youtube to songs is for n00bz you get the shittest quality.
Easiest way is this

1. Google.com
2. enter song name e.g. "George Michael - Faith" follow by eithor "mediafire", "Zippyshare", "hulkshare"
3. So should look like this "George Michael Faith Zippy"
4. 9 Times out of 10 it will be the first link of the search. Click the link.
5. Download the song.
6. Rock out to Faith by george michael.

Holy Shit, you must have clocked the internet!

In all fairness, the stuff I convert sounds fine, maybe when I'm a DJ doing sets in Europe I'll start giving fucks :)

Apparently youtube only encodes to 128kb quality?

The search on google always results in a site with 50 pop ups and 10 buttons that all seem legitimate telling you 'click here to download'

I'll check that out when i get home fourseven

Thanks a lot fellas a few decent suggestions for me to try out.

I have started using this site for mp3's of songs I am particularly fond of that I want to download.

http://www.mp3million.com/

You do pay a nominal fee (like 0.10c) though it is worth it. The quality is always exceptional.

I hate downloading crappy 128 bitrate mp3's and it sounds like turd if you have a high end hi-fi system. (Even when it is up-converted using Nero)

MP3 Rocket, Can get videos from youtube at 1080HD or get the audio files at 320kb, excellent quality. Also has a search function the same as limewire/frostwire

Putting aside common torrent sites, I've taken to buying some music from beatport.com

Generally the harder to find remixes or lesser known stuff.

The maximum bitrate for Youtube audio is 192kb/s with the majority of 1080p uploads capped at 152kb/s.
