Hey guys,

AFARCC are holding a track day at Wanneroo on Sunday the 5th of August, 2012. Event is open to all makes/models.

As with our previous track days, this will day will run approximately from 8am to 4pm, with a break for lunch.

CAMS L2S licenses will be required as a minimum, and these can be purchased (but not renewed) on the day... First timers are able to enter with a CAMS L1S, which is a single day, one time only license for approximately $30 (last years prices, which may have changed).

Prices for the track day will be as follows
AFARCC Members: $140
Non-Members: $180 (includes membership to AFARCC membership till June 2013)

We believe this is a pretty good deal, with alot of track time available throughout the day.

We provide a number of experienced instructors for the day as well, to help you get the most out of your day.

(Bear in mind these instructors are volunteers and are there to help, so please listen to what they have to say)

Bookings and pre-payment are essential to getting a run at this track day, so in order to secure your spot:

Transfer your payment to -
Name: All Fours & Rotaries Car Club of WA
Bank: Commonwealth
BSB: 066 000
ACC: 1011 4377

Put your Surname and the date of the event as your message reference (ie I would put KNIGHT AUGUST5)

Then email a copy of your transfer receipt, and completed entry form with your full name and car to russ.knight@iinet.net.au

More details, including the Supp Regs and Entry Forms will be available very soon. We will e-mail these to you if you enter before they are published on the web site.

Any questions relating to the day please feel free to email committee@allfours.org.au

Also, if you'd like to be involved, but won't be in a position to join the on track activities, please let us know, as we're always looking for people willing to assist in running the day...

Kind regards

Russell Knight
AFARCC Treasurer

Frequently Asked Questions:

What kind of Safety gear do I need?

At a minimum you need an APPROVED type helmet that is free of existing damage and in good overall condition, accompanied with long cotton clothing, enclosed footwear and good condition (and working) seatbelts. Fire extinguisher (must comply with CAMS Manual Schedule H) with an approved mount in an appropriate location (and accessible)... a 1kg powder type are usually readily available from automotive outlets and easy to install.

What things do I need to check on my car before scrutineering ?

Firstly - ensure the car has been recently serviced and your brakes and tyres are in tip top condition. On the day it's best to check all fluids (oil, coolant, brakes, clutch, transmission, powersteering) and ensure levels are correct and their are no leaks.... your battery and terminals are all firm/secured.... . you will also be best to check your tyre pressures and wheel nuts at the track - before going on track double check your tow points front AND rear are visible and easily accessible.... and make sure ALL your crap - airfreshers, Dire Straits Greatest Hits CDs, tyre shine cans etc is out of the car.

What extras do I need to bring?

At worst you need to bring a few basic tools and supplies... you do not need all of these by any means but it never hurts to be prepared...... nothing like having a day cut short but a small issue that you could've fixed in 5 minutes.... You will find the well prepared and experience track goer would usually have something like the following:

Engine oil for top ups (at least 1L)
Spare fuel if your beast is a bit thirsty
Water/Coolant suitable to your vehicle (at least 1L)
Cable ties/Gaffa Tape/Fabric Tape to attach/affix any thing that might need it
Breakbar/rackets + Socket for your Wheelnuts (And key for any locknuts)
Basic tool set (socket set, screwdrivers, adjustable spanners)
Basic Jack (in car model is slow, but compact and ever reliable).
Good couple of clean rags.
Some Water for you!
Sunscreen/hat/sunnies.

Any spares/items particular to your vehicle that you KNOW you have issues with. IE - if your car ALWAYS blows a certain intercooler hose - then maybe bring a few spare clamps and a joiner? - Remeber no one knows your beloved better than you so anticipate it's needs!

What happens if I break my car?

If you are unfortunate enough to have a small or large breakage.. or your car gets up close and personal with some of the scenery.. its not the end of the world. The club committee and members will do all they can to assist - if its something minor we can fix up and get you back out on the track or something major we can provide a shoulder to cry on. It's best to make plans just incase - if your car is a bit of a highly strung and fragile weapon it may be best to tow it to the track just incase it can't make it home under its own power - or at least do a bit of research and have the number of a good (and cheap!) towing company or friend with a car trailer on standby should you need it... it's very rare that you would need a tow - usually if you detect an issue early enough (for those WITH mechanical sympathy) you can normally limp your pride and joy home... but again it's always handy to be well prepared.

FOR CANCELLATIONS PLEASE NOTE: While we appreciate people circumstances and availability can change - there are NO REFUNDS AFTER SUNDAY 15TH JULY. If you are unable to make it you will need to locate/nominate a participant to take your spot - and ensure they have the appropriate licenses and vehicle and are aware of the Event details and Supp Regs (when available).

SCRUTINEERING NOTES:

TOW POINTS!!
All Vehicles must have clearly marked and accessible TOW POINTS either factory or aftermarket fitted to both FRONT and REAR that can fit a medium sized D shackle through. While all care will be taken - the club and volunteers will not be held responsible for damaged sustained to vehicles being retrieved from sand traps due to inaccessible tow points that are either inadequate or mounted behind bodykits, skirts, lips etc.... in order to keep the day running smoothly we need to be able to retrieve any disabled/bogged vehicles quickly and cleanly .... so please ensure this is possible. Most standard modern vehicles have tow points that are screw in either front or rear via a small panel/hatch on the bumpers.. make sure these are accessible and you have your screw in tow fitting either already fitted or readily accessible/secured in the car at all times.

Hi Guys -

Still plenty of spots to fill in this day.

Scrutineering will be held the week before to save time on the day.

Cheers

Also keen.
However I wouldn't be able to make scrutineering the week before.
Would it be ok to do scrutineering on the day?

Some on the day scroots will be available but it will need to be pre-arranged. Email the committee list with your details. We will likely reserve some pit bays for the few on the day scroots so they are all together and the officials don't have to go searching. We are trying to maximise the track time available.

No official timing - if youre that keen for times just chuck a PerformanceBox or something in and you can time yourself to your hearts content :)

The event is simply run as a test & tune / driver training day - very casual - lots of free track time to play... should be a reasonably respectable turnout with quite a range of vehicles.
