Obviously my Cayenne on 20" rims isn't going to be rock climbing at any stage, but it is quite proficient in sand / gravel tracks that you can carry a bit of speed on.
What are the best locations for doing a bit of casual off-roading on gravel-type roads?
I took it off road between Busselton and Yallingup and it did that comfortably, but I don't enjoy the deep sand / harsh rocks as much as I do the gravel roads.
sounds stupid, but the powerlines is doable with an xtrail without even touching the low ass side steps etc now that its been flattend
or find your local quarry!! alot of fun times to be had, I swear they design the place's with drifting in mind

if you just want gravel roads there are heaps in the hills... if you head up brookton hwy theres a road called Ashendon road which goes right through to Mundaring weir road... there is quite a few track heading off there too... closer towards Mundaring weir road where the powerlines run through is more tracks, pretty much where i head when I want to have some sideways fun in the patrol.

Brockas let me know if you head out this weekend - I live in Kalamunda and I know some roads. I've been on Ashendon numerous times but it's been a while, so I'm keen to get out there again!

Sounds good. If I get some spare time on Saturday I'll be keen!

Question - is there a speed limit off road?
50km/h unless signed otherwise?

Why would u want is the main question? If you just want to get away from the city and see some bush then I know a few spots. But if you just want somewhere to go cut up and be a dickhead then I got no comment.
Most places along the scarp including those mentioned already are water catchment get caught up there and u can receive big fines.
The other issue is people not keeping left or hookin around blind corners plenty of head ons because of this.

Not interested in cutting up and being a dickhead, I just enjoy driving off-road and the car I have can't do incredibly tough off road stuff, therefore it needs to be light off road.
Plus, I've done the rock climbing shit in mates 4x4's and it really did nothing for me.

Check Captain Fawcett track down Dwellingyup it's a very easy track although at the moment the puddles would be pretty big

you cant drive bloody anywhere without it being a water catchment area lol you can drive on Ashendon road? and the right road that goes upto Mt Dale is a pretty sweet view up there to take your misses for a bang.
