when the clutch on my XR6T is disengaged its abnormally noisy, with a rattly metallic sound. It's only 14,000 ks old so I'm taking it to Ford to have it looked at. Would it be thrust bearing related if the clutch is out?

possibly spigot ?
i had a 25 box that was noisy with clutch in. thought it was the input shaft bearing, actually turned out to be scored synchro's. input shaft is common though.

Usual 6cyl ford gearbox rattle. drop the oil fill it with 4ltrs of trans max z or rp synchro max and it will calm down.
