Interesting article - in case people are interested.
Apparently there is a hologram (similar to Tupac) floating around with Jay-Z rapping also?

Saw this on hiphopdx its a shame only the last bullet got him.
Such a shame..
Can only imagine what Hip Hop would be like these days if Big and Tupac were still around.
Keen2see Brooklyns Finest with Jay and dead wrong with Eminem Hologram.
LAPD know who shot him.. One day, maybe someone will make enough noise for this case to be reopened and the truth to finally come out.
LADP don't give a fuck, its not like it will make a difference anyway.

The gunshots weren't in any order according to the report, but 1 of the 4 was fatal. If only that 1 had hit him somewhere else..
Also interesting to note, is he had no cannabis, narcotics or alcohol in his system at all.. Clean as a whistle.

Not to go all CSI here, BUT if you were getting shot at and hit 3 times already, chances are you would lean over/lie back which would give such a trajectory (right hip -> left shoulder) not dissimilar to flat brimmed pimp lean seen in such cars as Chev badged Holden Omegas.
24yo and 395lbs, if the bullets didn't get him that night he would have Big Pun'd sooner rather than later... :(

I don't know much about Biggie, or even tupac or how they worked together, any of the story, but fuck I would convert to vegan* to swap them for Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne.
Cliche', but fuck I hate them the most... Followed closely by Adam levigne the whingey pingpingpingping, and Rhiannon.
And chris brown.
*Even bacon. Because I hate these 'musicians'
I would suck a dick to wipe Pitbull and Flo Rida off the planet.

That's a strong post!
Pitbull, T-Pain, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lil' Wayne, all those wannabe gangster faggots, Drake (cos every single stupid girl on facebook keeps posting up his "quotes" about how to "treat females correctly" - you know, cos when he is fucking groupies and blowing loads on their faces he really gives a shit), Tyler the Creator, etc.
Would love to see what Hip-Hop would be these days if Tupac, Biggie, Big L etc. were still around...

Fuck, even EMINEM holds a bit of a light against those posers. Mostly his old stuff, cos last album was pus! Just sayin
However, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake can rap and are actually quite talented, their older stuff is quite good.
But these days they will rather just throw a verse in some faggot arse Pitbull or Flo Rida song, all about quick money.
Eminem is arguably the best that has ever done it. Last album was boss.

Lil Wayne says NIGGER about 25 times in most songs, that's not talent man!
Nicki minaj can rap, yes, but half of her words are either way too jigga to be even remotely applicable, or made up or butchered from perfectly good English....which EMINEM, and tupac both use/used wonderfully.
I suppose the ridiculous hyped up popularity of most of them has reduced them to chucking out songs and albums quick as they can, to basically cash in ASAP.
Pity really, because you never have the anxious feeling of whether a new album is going to be any good, listening for th first time... because they've already released most of it on radio 3 weeks earlier.
In closing, YES, most of these artists old stuff is good, but commercialism has killed talent, and now we're stuck with Rihanna and Pitbull types, FFS!
/rant-rebuttal. Haha

When I hear some of their verses I actually don't understand why they thought they should record them, they are ridiculous. To be honest though, I'm not a fan of Kanye or Jay-Z either, their older stuff was decent.

Hip Hop is on its way back to the golden era, Ive only listened to 90s hip hop for the past 10+ years and it really is coming back yeah its new its different but its dope.
Kendrick Lamar
Ab Soul
Jay Rock
Schoolboy Q
Black Hippy
Joey Badass
ASAP rocky
Action Bronson
Jay Electronica
Hopsin
Yeah its back
That's a fairly big call.
When these artists start influencing other artists styles, then we might be able to say we have a golden era on our hands.
It might be a good, new era, but it's not a golden one.
I for one am enjoying a lot of the new stuff out there, but that includes the new stuff from Wu Tang, Xzibit, Lloyd Banks, The Game, etc. It's awesome and features some of the artists that you've mentioned above and others coming through in this new era. They're still "apprentices" in the scheme of things.
On that note, check out ASAP Rocky feat. 2 Chainz, Drake & Kendrick Lamar - Problems. Banging track!

Apart from Wu Tang Kendrick Lamar eats all of them alive I think hes going to be one of the old time greats, the only thing stopping the list I listed to be as good as the golden era is the record labels its much more controlled than it was in the 90's.

This is Kendrick Ab soul and Jay Rock killing it 3 years ago on a DJ Premier beat.
You need to compare him to those of similar style. He compares himself to 2Pac, the rest of the world is comparing him to Nas.
I'd never compare him to The Game (who happen to be my favourite artist btw).. His style is way more gangsta and of a dying breed of real life hustlers turned rappers. Much of the new talent never lived the struggle.. You don't get those mix tape corner bodega spec rappers anymore.. It's just different and it's so hard to draw comparison IMHO.
I don't know about everyone else but it's taken me a while to warm to this new era, probably because I'm entrenched in the golden era.. Not because of nostalgia, but purely because I am constantly finding new nuances and aspects of the music, such is the complexity and back story of some of the tracks from that era.
At least I can say I'm finally starting to enjoy the new stuff.

Yeah man, I compare him to Tupac but I think comparing is useless there is no new Pac there is no new Nas(Joeybadass is compared to him) yeah comparing is stupid imo.
Yeah it took me a while to like new hiphop I too have been playing just 90s for the past 10 years non stop its all I listened to until this year, when I first listened to Kendrick I was like meh now I think hes going to be one of the greatest in fact hes got the wood over most of the golden era artists in some aspects thats for sure.
What Kendrick is is the whole package hes not just a rapper he is a true musician hes doing songs with Dido now lol.... hes a true artist(nohomo).
songs with dido, sell out now?

songs with dido, sell out now?
Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe was originally with Lady Gaga (there's even a version floating around the net) but never got approved for final release. Eminem also had a song with Dido and it was one of the better hip hop tracks of it's time.
Don't buy into the sell out bullshit, almost ANY rapper would do anything for a track on the radio, the problem is most go about it the wrong way, and forget about doing anything of substance, and focusing all their energy into having a single rather than a cohesive album. I can't even fault them, Flo Rida ISN'T a bad rapper, but he went the other way, he had few big singles and eventually that's all he's decided to do. Now he's counting the money, i'm sure he's not too worried about what anyone thinks of him.
And everyone crying about all these rappers on the radio? What station are you listening to? Why are you listening to the radio at all? If all you know about Lil Wayne is Lollipop, Let It Rock or anything featuring anyone that's paid him $100k to phone a verse in, you're in the wrong. Dude has done so much in the past that there's bound to be garbage, but his best stuff stands above it all, and he has at least 4-5 classic albums/mixtapes in his back catalogue.
Hip hop, and music in general, is at a real high right now, problem is that most of you are getting bitter with age and are too busy living in the past.

I have a couple albums of Action Bronson on rotation (among Hopsin, Killer Mike and Masta Ace) - very decent stuff. Big Boi had an album drop this year too IIRC, Elzhi and El-P I'll hopefully have a listen to today.
I'm assuming most people have heard of Sandpeople? All the members also have their own personal catalogs (Sapient, IAME, illOne, Debaser etc.) - they have some decent stuff. Debaser's "Peerless" is fantastic.
The best rapper out there atm - probably Lloyd Banks.
He has the sickest lyrics, killer flow. G unit tainted him and he cant get a deal. Sad.
Kendrick is very good too.
Lil Wayne is not a good rapper - I posted a video to Joes wall a while back, freestyle on hot 97 - he had to READ his lyrics from his iphone - are you fucking kidding me.
I agree TJ.. Banks kills it!
Youtube Lloyd Banks Lean Back Freestyle.
As Kenny Smith yells at every slam dunk comp - that was SICK!
Another decent guy is Meek Mill.

Talking about the best rapper - not the best hip hopper, or best artist. Guy can straight rap and farking well. I gave Joe a copy of his latest, I am sure he will agree its pretty good shit.
Yep, he's the best rapper out there right now. His delivery is immense, and his focus.. The guy hardly listens to anyone else's music so as to not taint his thoughts and style.
His freestyles are the best there is, check out his Hot 97 Freestyles on YouTube.

Here's one.
He's the punch line king too.. www.complex.com/music/2010/11/punchline-king-the-25-best-lloyd-banks-verses/
It's no secret that he was the mastermind behind most of G Units early lyrics.
Some of my faves - not saying they are his best etc, but I love this
