So i done the usual 33 4 pots on the cressida, and am in the process of trying to bleed them up, however no matter how much i bleed them they just wont go stiff/retain pressure.
did the fronts when i changed them, bled the air out and then some, now am trying the rears, got a bit of air out of one now thats it just bleeding fluid and i've gone through over a bottle of brake fluid.

Any ideas

Bleeding by pumping brake 3 times then hold. crack bleeder for 1-2 sec close bleed nipple then resume cycle.

any ideas?

Tapping caliper with a rubber mallet when bleeding can help get trapped bubbles out.

buy a one man brake bleeder kit from supercheap, $16 or so. Save yourself the hassle.

I know this sounds a little stupid but is the bleed nipple at the top of the caliper?

Possible you fucked the master cylinder by over stroking it , common for those with no idea how to bleed a old system .

I've been guilty of an over stroke once or twice in the past

Check that fluid isn't leaking out between the master cylinder and the booster, you'll see it leaking down the firewall, pretty common for cressy to have leaky master cylinders

How should i be doing it then? I have a spare master anyway, how can i tell if i have fucked it?

Fronts No, i'll change them over when i can to see if it helps, didn't even think of that.

Defiantly the problem, turn them around and you should have a hard pedal

Half pumps of the pedal as opposed to full travel pumps.

Alternatively leave the brakes installed upside down, flip the car on its roof and bleed them. Once that's done return car back to the upright position :D

I wouldn't have thought it would be an issue? Assuming they are Brembo calipers made in Italy (northern hemisphere) and installed with nipples facing downwards in the Australia (Southen Hemisphere) they would be correctly aligned with the earths axis and bleeding shouldn't be an issue?
