I don't know what was going on with the cops. They snuck up behind us all in the right lane, and sat beside me for a minute or so.... initially i was unknowingly doing 10-15km over the speed limit, looked in my side mirror, saw them, looked at the speedo and obviously slowed down... was a little worried when i saw them looking at me and my car then thir computer screen... however they moved ahead and did the same to you then did a U turn.

About 5-10 minutes later I saw 2 more of them side by side about 300 meters ahead of us all, and I knew overtaking them wasn't an option so I pulled off and waited.

I had great fun, glad he came along. Had about 5 runs with him. A few from a dig and a few from rolling start. I think if he spends a few more $$$ on some kind of forced induction kit he will chop us all. Noce car though. Loved the instant torque response and the sound. Also think if you spent $4-5k on a single turbo kit, fuel, ecu and tune etc Grandpa could chop us all. Grandpa spec cressida was pulling really hard for a stock 1jz setup. Sounded good in the tunnel btw.

few things with the car though, after driving it yesterday that kind of make me question the whole thing. Not what he paid but what was done and or how well, I understand it got cams etc... but 5th and 6th is useless on the freeway, infact any gear anywhere near 2k rpm and the car is like a kangaroo.

fair enough, this can be overcome with diff gears or what ever, but would of thought that would of been mentioned seing how many of the cars these people have done. The other thing is power figures, apparently 490 at the treds... certainly doesnt feel like it

I think its a little different with turbo cars because the power can come on quite suddenly and abruptly making it feel really fast... With NA big displacement engines the torque is there almost immediately so it is deceiving until you look at the speedo.

Also remember the old power to weight part of it. The Cressida weighs about 1500kg, so you've probably got about 250-300kg weight advantage. It's like driving around with a full car of big blokes.

Weighs 1460kg. Power is 470-520whp depending on the dyno and weather conditions.

Getting a boost leak check on Monday and will hopefully pick up a bit of response and extra power.
