Diff bearings have gotten noisy again in the VZ, last time I rebuilt myself reusing the crown wheel and pinion but they were worn then so dont want to use them again as theres killer backlash and also keen to change ratio. Bearings only seem to be good for 100,000kms.

Currently running 3.73, keen to go either 3.9 or 4.11. With the 6spd I imagine neither would be an issue at highway speeds.

Anyone know the best/cheapest place for the parts I need? I can get a brand new complete diff through work (3.73) for $1800 but if its less to rebuild and change ratio Im keen to do that.

Any info/advice appreciated.

Got 3.9's in the ute via a tremec, fine on the highway even with the 400+ I average 10.2l per 100, but that's on a QLD tune I haven't had it redone in WA. Pick up is spot on, 4th at 60 is 2000rpm, so I usually just leave it at that around town. Let me know how you go with a rebuild kit as such man, as mine is looser than your dinner plate sized freckle

Motospecs for gearset inc bearings as a kit.. .called a ratio change kit... only avail in 3.9
9311 9950
M80 diff

If you want 4.11 theres no genuine gearsets available for this ratio so you need to get aftermarket gearset
This is where everyone seems to buy them from
