that is interesting, what is more interesting is that it is said that we evolutionised from apes but.... why are there still apes in the world? and even still where did apes come from. where did any thing come from? i dont beleive in this big bang crap and I dont beleive space goes on forever. The thing that makes me allmost lock up and die is the thought that how is space in existance? what is the area that space fills and how that area get there? if all was gone would we just be in a big open white area of nothing?

ok im confused :S

it doesnt bother me if i have to die..but i would like to die of old age. if they could just cure diseases etc so people can live their alotted life span in peace and harmony then this would be brilliant....living forever would be impossible...

ive got way too much to say on this topic. so i wont even start. however i will say that christianity and all other religions have it wrong. we evolved from miniscule prokaryotes, not some magic poof cloud created by 'god' or 'allah' or any other tom, dick or harry.
Bacteria ----> Humans -----> Humans + Marijuana -----> Religion -------> 'GoD'

Religion is created, humans have evolved. Simple
-If u are religious and want to argue, im more than happy to fire my ammo available (Biological Science Student).

im not saying that some form of higher being does or does not exist but you cant say that nothing exists until it's proven that it doesn't exist; up until that point i think people should keep an open mind...there is sooooo much we don't know that it would be silly to say definately does not exist.
agreed, i never said there was no form of higher being, i was just stating what has been discovered by science thus far, and what has been 'created' by humans thus far also.

like u, i consider myself quite open minded, and it excites me to think that other beings, i.e 'aliens', may exist.

how small do we feel when we say that we are living in one suburb, of one city, of one state, of one country, of one planet, of one solar system, of one universe.

the possibility of other 'terrestrial' life, or the possible evolution of this 'terrestrial' life is so great, its almost stupidity to deny the fact.

science proves more about our past and present then religion can. science has got a thing called evidence and fact while religion has the tell tale stories of some old men who couldnt see what they were writing past there fukin beards.

HotAe92 by the sounds of it, you havent read much of any religious book have you? if you have read the bible or the quran neither says that we were created from a "magic poof cloud". you cant just base your arguments on your biology books and talk about religion sif you know it.

ET pulsar, same point goes to you, have you read any religious books? if any, to what extent? to page 13 and got bored? if you have read enough into the quran (the reason why this book is because its my religion and its the one i know thoroughly and thus only one i can completely base my argument upon), then you will read that 1400 years ago, it was described in the quran what an embryo looks like, describes the steps of fertilisation to birth, along with a s h i t load of scientific facts that were only discovered by your s c i e n c e just a number of decades ago. thats why more and more well known scientists of todays world are agreeing to the knowledge of religion and realising the limitation of scientific knowledge... not only does religion provide us info of OUR past, it also states of the end of time also, in other words "judgement day". it also states alot of spiritual things, such as our souls, angels, deamons, heaven, hell, etc. about this futuristic information that the book encloses i believe with my whole heart, but im not a fortune teller, so i myself cannot garuantee this, neither can anyone of us.

if you personally want to be more educated, then study both sides of the argument. if you've got the time that is.
if you dont believe me about how scientists are accepting religion, then i can post up websites on ur request.
religion is a choice, u either accept or u dont, but there is no reason why you should bad mouth it and run your mouth off with irrelevant false facts.

im sorry HotAe92 and ET pulsar but your posts were very offensive to me, i was fine with you saying you dont believe in religion untill it got to the point where u were taking an offensive side. and i presume im not the only person who has a religion in these forums. if you find my post offensive i apologise but its nothing but a reply to both of your posts.

dude relax,
in no way was i 'dissing' religion, i just stated that in my opinion i believe religion is wrong. and ur right, religion has discovered some things, science still is yet to unwravel, but till that day, i hold my faith in science.

in response to me not havent read a book, dude, im a fkn anglican, i had to study religion throughout my schooling years, and had to do numerous activities and essays on different religions including Islam, just last semester i studied Islam in depth, so im a bit further educated on religion than the average joe.

im sorry if i have offended u in anyway, but i do encourage your response, as religion is a very topical and debated issue (hence the small number of posts). i admire u for standing up for what u believe in. Not only does it put your opinion forward, it also challenges my own, and thus educates me furthur on the subject, so that i can make furthur more educated decisions in the future.

i try to remain as optimistic as possible at times, however emotion can overide that on occasions and cloud the optimism.

jayden you have a good heart. i thank you for your optimism on your responses. i presumed that you would take it the wrong way but i was wrong. i appreciate ur admiration towards my p.o.v and i admire your's. its good to meet someone once in a while who is more educated on religion once in a while. i guess this is a prime example of "each is to their own". again thanks for ur optimism.

ps. you heard of that raligion called scientology or something like that (i really cant remember) its apperently where you believe that everything was created by aliens including us and that aliens are going to come one day with a big ship and save us all. i think its the religion that Tom Cruise believes in...

I grew up in catholic schools and my mum is cathlic but im a non believer. I believe that god was "invented" to keep people in line. He his a father figure who will punish you when ever you mess up. Catholic people are also very hypocritical.....For example...Love thy neighbour....As long as they are catholic to or they are going to hell...That sortta thing is bizarre. How can people say "god loves you no matter what" as long as you worshipo him..But then again i could be wrong...But i will give organised religions something they know how to make money!!! But like i said growing up in as a non believer in catholic schools is tuff. If you dont believe then you are rong. The difference between believers and no believers is that non believers can acknowledge a good point that is put forward in an argument(about religion) but belivers are like....na god exist thats it...no ifs no buts...

Plus if god loves all his children then y does he let innocent people and small children get killed/die/molested and other horrific things in this world...

a few mates of mine who get thrills out of such actions pull the piss out of them regularly.

rock up, let them preach to you, listen with a cheeky grin, then throw thier bull**** back in thier face with 'constructive observation/critisism', use a bit of logic and stubborness and you should be able to piss them off as much as possible without getting kicked out.
