Heyo,
what are the options for lap timers on the android system?
willing to pay for a decent app.
would like Collie & Barbs as well as possibly custom courses, sprints etc.

I've been using trackmaster but it's shitting me lately because it keeps uploading my stuff to the net and deleting info on the phone. I think it's about $10.

I've just downloaded race chrono and giving that a go next time I'm out, looks like it does the same but it's free.

Worth getting a 5hz GPS for $90, makes it a lot more accurate

I use Google Tracks. Free. Works anywhere foot or car. Set your own start line grids and it GPS the rest for you.

If RaceChrono is as good as it was on s60 Symbian, it's a cracker. I keep my Nokia alive purely to run RaceChrono, and all development has since been moved to the Android version. It rocks. Reading the telemetry is so useful when chasing lap times

I just downloaded race chrono the other day to test out at an up coming track day I've organised. Its free to download, free to sign up and appears to have most race tracks around Australia pre loaded into it.

Ive used Harrys Lap timer (IOS + money) & Race chrono. I've used Race chrono with and without a BT mouse like this one http://www.qstarz.com/Products/GPS%20Products/BT-Q818XT-F.htm

Harrys Laptimer was simple..like grandma simple, but a little trickier when it came to fine tuning track markers etc. But the Iphone hardware was the limiting factor as the GPS was poo.

I used RC on a HTC Wildfire S even without the BT mouse and it was far more accurate and reliable, but I use it with the BT mouse mentioned for extra reliability.

RC has Barbs and Collie tracks pre-made with splits ( for quickly seeing which parts of the track your mucking up). There is also a BT add on device that gives you extra inputs for when you get more pro for things like TPS, RPM, Brake & steering angle. I've forgotten the name but I've got one at home ready to go in..

RC also has a PC software program so you can look at yours days work on a PC screen, It can also convert to a .vbo format so you can use the Race logic performance box software if thats your thing.

...So all in all its pretty sweet for 0$
