Do you guys mind if we have a decal that says 'N2O'
4.11.4 MARKERS
All vehicles using Nitrous Oxide must display a yellow diamond with NO2
lettering with measurements of 110mm x 130mm, located on the outside
of the vehicle in the area where the supply bottle is located and in the top

Hey, quick question (and I wasn't sure if I should start a thread for Racewars questions);
Does someone that's going to be a passenger also have to pay for a spectator pass?
Yes, as they will be spectating also - I suspect they wont drive to Wylie, straight into a car for a run, back into the car and home.

Kuek has asked for his entrant number to be changed to [888]... Somehow I don't think magical stickers with lucky numbers on them is going to be enough to help him here.
So I had a thought. Given recent tune I just had. Can you please give Kuek #319 and me #420. Just as a reminder I have more power than him.
Thank you.

They were only sent yesterday so expect delivery early next week.
A big thanks to everyone who came out today and got their inspections out of the way. Great attitudes even from the people who fell short of the mark and had stuff to fix. There was no whinging or bitching and people got about getting sorted which is great to see.
I'll be honest I hate the whole scruit process; it a huge undertaking and is a headache for all involved however there was one car today that reminded us why we do it. The tech team may very well have saved a guys life today by finding a littany of defects with a car that made it unsafe to drive around the block let alone at Racewars. Safety > * so keep up the good work guys, the standard of vehicles has lifted heaps from last year and for me honestly that helps me sleep at night right now; I'm sure the rest of the team feel the same way.
I'll see you guys booked in for inspections tomorrow bright & early at Galvsport.

Can't wait to test the new engine/coil over/brake combo out
Since last year I have had a totally new top end put on the motor (402ci) by John at Street Quick Performance utilizing some of his newly designed MAST heads along with a new FAST 102 manifold, roller rockers.
From memory this gave 520 odd rwhp on a mild tune (I don't believe in tuning to "The Ragged Edge" in N/A for, then I have a 100 shot of NOS to help out on the short runs if needed.
Bart has re bushed the entire car in nolothane, and added a huge 6/4 pot Brembo brake package that I got from the States, and set it up on TEIN coil overs
Added ARP studs all round and open faced nuts to retain the new KOYA Drift Teks shod in r spec tyres
Cheers Bart for helping me with this - just gotta hope she performs well now.
What size tyres are you running on the back of the monaro, heavyduty?
I'm trying to squeeze 275s under my vz, if there's enough room.

Cheers to all for the efficient scrutiny this morning. Sorry Ivan, you must be sick of me turning up for your scruits! Thanks to Jon and Jess for helping a sticker retard sort out some RW advertising for the oldies at Northam round the houses next weekend. Which reminds me; seeing as I'll be relatively close to Wylie next weekend, I should have grabbed a bunch of flyers to place under my wiper. RW bosses, let me know if this appeals and we can sort out a way to flyer me up this week.
Great to catch up with a few others this morn. And chew the fat. Love your fuel setup Justin and love the sweet E85 smells from Rusty and Showtime.

Another great day guys, got a fair few more entrants through today. Many thanks to the tech team and Jess & Tris for their help this weekend.
There's been a fair few people who've missed inspection slots so a reminder that this week is your last chance, no if's, no buts, no excuses.
Anyone who missed their slot this weekend without making alternative arrangements will be allocated a slot next Sunday. (You may also make alternative arrangements with the tech team) Miss that and you're out.

We have some (less than 10 from memory) positions that have opened up due to people withdrawing (that we've refunded) that we can potentially look to slot vehicles in to. There's also a few spots up for sale from people who've withdrawn after the refund window closed. Flick us an email @ info@racewars.com.au and we'll go from there if you'd like to try your hand.

Yeah, read the regulations. All passenger info in there.
Buckets
01-04-2014, 09:33 PM
To go for passenger rides during the roll on 400m & 800m sessions you will need to:
- Be 18+
- Sign the passenger waiver & purchase a passenger wrist band
- Wear an approved helmet + enclosed shoes + long sleeve shirt + long pants
Passengers must be seated in a seat and secured by a seat belt that complies with the event regulations. Lap only belts are not permitted under any circumstances. It is the drivers responsibility to ensure the passengers are properly briefed, securely seated and restrained during any passenger run and it is also their responsibility to ensure that the passengers are properly attired while completing the pass.
Drivers are not required to take passengers and do so of their own free will and at their discretion. Event Management reserves the right to remove any passenger from any vehicle or cease passenger runs at any time during the event.

There is no official Racewars party in town this year. We are focusing our efforts on the event itself and have left the entertainment arrangements to the bowls club / pub to sort out. JME is looking at running an official Racewars after / wrap up party at a Nightclub in Perth to be held after the event weekend and everyone has had time to get some post RW sleep :D

yeah we stayed at the dowerin pub last year and this year again. we left trailers at the event Saturday night. and had the cars on them over night Friday out the front.
Accommodation is booked out at the pub now, so sounds like there should be quite a few people staying there. I recommend the surf/turf.

Spent this morning at SCM in their rather nice dyno cell. Like a wind tunnel in there - kept car cool and me cold. But for a worthy cause...
Car made a few % more power than predicted on the engine analyser, so that's a win. Added a fair bit more fuel and a little extra timing. Motor ate it up. Let the motor run slightly richer over the last part of the rev range to keep it safe. Also didn't chase too much more timing for the same reason.
Drove to work after that, but after seeing a cop car, decided against too much experimentation. Suffice to say a short hit or two in second gear gave the tyres something to think about.

Yeah, it is a winner of a setup. As usual you never know how comparable the dyno is to others, especially being a Dynojet which I've not used before. However it made around 16 - 17% more go than previous (443 RWHP on DJ today vs 380 RWHP on DD) and a quick check of my fuel map just below redline at 6750 RPM shows 15 % extra fuel is being added to maintain a similar low 12 AFR. So unless my BSFC has gone to hell from the tweaks I've made to the motor (which I doubt), then is seems to be a reasonably legit comparison.
But it seemed very kind on the tyres, which is a bonus. Bigger single roller, vs two smaller rollers on the dyno dynamic types.

At dusk change into whatever gear pulls 5000+rpm and cruise at that to scare them off

Well Bart, I got to stretch the Monaro's legs(and brakes) - fan fucking tastic!!
Will definately stop this year with the 355mm 6 pot fronts and 350mm 4 pot rears
Got the old girl to 6500 rpm in 5th (3.91 rear t56 box on 245 x 40 x 18 advan050's) - didnt try 6th as my fucking legs were twitching so fucking much with adrenalin!!
The old girl pulled up quick and straight with no fade

Very happy to hear that when i booked in at an exhaust shop to have a straight-through made up, he asked me if it was for racewars! Good that the motoring community/general public are starting to catch on to this event. Cockburn exhaust FYI, will see how his work is and let people know for future ref.

Would love to and I am going to call and see. But to be honest with it still needing a few things for tech and still needing tech done, it's going to be a massive rush and struggle. But not giving up just yet
EDIT: on the phone and they can't release from the rail yard and it needs to clear quarantine before it can be released. Told the girl on the phone it's needed for a motorsports event starting Saturday so she is putting a rush on it. May be available Friday afternoon but most likely Monday

Not wanting to kill the vibe here but if anyone fucks up in town and does anything that causes us dramas with the cops or council and either I or one of the other event staff find out you will be removed from the event.
Enjoy yourselves but please be respectful of the law and the locals. We need their support to keep this event alive.

What kind of a country goes in such effort to do that..
I know everyone says this when they get pulled up and stickered, but WOW, Did this guy have a chip on his shoulder! Cut me off big time as well, even though all three of us were slowing up to pull over.
And as if that wasn't enough, after issuing my defect notice he has the nerve to breathalyze me as well, but not my two mates i was with. Wtf?
I'm just glad they didn't get stickered, as it's a lot less hassle for my basically stock car (bar rims, low and tint) to go over the pits.
LOL'd a little inside when he tried to get his little 'tint gauge thing' over my double glazed windows! I told him it wasn't gonna fit.

If a car is defective, then they are doing their job. If they find that its not, then they have still just done their job.
Doesn't matter if there is an event on, you are visiting their area...
If you want to play with cars, then do it within the law, otherwise deal with the consequences and don't whinge when you get done.

The day I see the Police defect a crappy banger, that has a leaking exhaust and 3 bald tyres, over a modified car, that is perhaps slightly too low / loud but in perfect mechanical condition, I will take a defect like a man...
If a car is defective, then they are doing their job. If they find that its not, then they have still just done their job.
Doesn't matter if there is an event on, you are visiting their area...
If you want to play with cars, then do it within the law, otherwise deal with the consequences and don't whinge when you get done.
I completely understand, but still think it is wrong for the Police to go "take it to the track where it is a safer environment" only to have a cops on the road to / from the event dishing out punishment for those trying to find an outlet for their passion.
Don't see what they couldn't just have a few units at various points to keep people alert to the Police presence (act as a deterrent rather then a punishment) without having to ruin someone's weekend. That being said there perhaps will be idiots that will ruin the vibe for everyone and these people should be pulled up the the Police and made an example of.
If a car is defective, then they are doing their job. If they find that its not, then they have still just done their job.
Doesn't matter if there is an event on, you are visiting their area...
If you want to play with cars, then do it within the law, otherwise deal with the consequences and don't whinge when you get done.
Well then by that logic, why wasn't every single car that entered or drove down to Racewars defected? Or at least 80% of them would be considered unroadworthy by our government's unrealistic standards.
I know for a fact we caught this particular copper in a bad mood, as apparently a few mins earlier he was busted and told by event organisers not to enter through the lower ambulance only gate. He then left in a shit, drove 5 mins down the road and pulled over the first group of cars he saw with event stickers. So actually, on this one i think I'm entitled to a bit of a whinge.

Sorry but that's a load of wank, defective as in no brakes or bald tyres fair call, but stickering for pathetic shit just shows how much of a douche the pig is, especially when the stickered cars were driving safely and behaving. All it does is deter people from attending future legal events and pushes them back onto the streets to blow off steam. Cop clearly didn't get any from his boyfriend last night and lacks the ability to make intelligent decisions based on circumstances.
DAN [GTI]
13-04-2014, 12:48 PM
Also wouldn't cars with RW14 Entrant Sticker have been inspected before hand and had to be at a safe level, so things like: wheels, tyres, brakes, steering, lights, suspension, etc... Also for the event to be insured / allowed I am sure that the organisers have to make sure all the cars meet a set safety standard and have all the emergency equipment.
I know a few details like tint, ride height and noise level perhaps wouldn't have been checked out, but they have not killed anybody recently (unlike bald tyres :p)
So with this logic these cars are safer then most cars on the road.
mehow2g
13-04-2014, 12:57 PM
We've all been whinging for years because yellow stickering cars that are made safer for the driver just goes against logic, like what the fuck does "too low" even mean? I cannot for the life of me see past it 95% of the road users wouldnt even realise a car is low nor does it affect the safety on roads thats what pisses me off.
I see more stickers on nice cars than shit buckets that put more smoke into the air from their exhaust than a skid, I know it wont change and it will probably get worse.
camping outside legal organised events is just pathetic.
Yes they are laws but when the laws make zero sense and does not affect any safety... what other country pins people for 5kms over?

Nope, far from it... All of my cars can easily be stickered, but I've never been done.
And how is Mr Police going to know if you have dodgy brakes, and tyres and anything else, unless he pulls you over... Oh look I can see bulk tread on that moving vehicle... Oh look they have a nice car, sure they have good tyres... Oh look at that big exhaust, surely they had an emissions tests and it complies, i'll just keep on driving to find someone else to do my job description.
So many cheap pingpingpingpings with 'decent' cars have the shitest quality and most bald tyres around! Oh lets spend 10k under the hood but buy second hand china tyres for $100 a set.
Does doing your job description make you a pingpingpingping? Or does it just make you a person performing their expected duties?

Some cops are scampscampscamps and doing their job. On the other hand i have been pulled over in my old WRX which had: 3" TBE (one high flow muffler) and HSD Coilovers. Arguably it was illegal for being too loud, not cat converter (lucky you can't tell from a regular inspection, but not arguing this one) and being too low (was about 80 - 90mm at lowest point) but the cop was good about it. He could tell it was well looked after and maintained and I wasn't doing anything illegal at the time and we had a good chat while he was looking the car over.
So he sent me off with a verbal just saying "It might be a wise investment to modify the suspension and exhaust to perhaps to avoid further attention"
Anyways back on topic: Looking forward to results and plenty of videos / pictures later today :)

So any results besides whining about stickers?
As per the Racewars 2014 Facebook feed:
283KM/H is the speed to beat - Same F6 that took out RW13 is currently holding the top spot
A nutter parked his van at the end of the airstrip - was taken to away by local cops
No official results however.

When I left the f6 was at 287'ish with the liberty second and Simon in third. Sadly looked like the liberty hurt an engine :(

That sucks, it is making some seriously impressive power for a boxer. Although it's a DakDak... it could just sound like that :)

Alright. Who's going 'out' tonight? Just passed out for an hour unvoluntarily, apparently skimpies on at pub soon (kitchen is apparently closed today so no food). Have run a party at barracks all day and nobody has arrived yet haha
Posting for name change
Nice work macca.

Great weekend.
Good to put names to faces
Blokes you never met before buying you lots of drinks
having a laugh taking people for rides
Gav was awesome lending me some tools to try and get injectors to fire up, sadly 2 and 6 fixed up and 3 dropped out later.
Having a run with the black supra and ALM was so much fun albeit I ate dust
Greg Rust and 200mph, hopefully we get that run next year.
Ran smooth
A top effort to all involved
Good work Paul and the other event staff and Galvsport and their crew. Thanks Josh getting me fire extinguisher mount done at the event lol. Got 246kms hour which is about the same as the other r35's. Had a great time : )

292 is crazy. Cooler weather would see 300 at that rate..
I officially recorded 243km/h in the 1000m but had seen 240 in the 800m morning runs so I honestly think the heat was hurting results.
Have *lots* more to say but well done to the team I had a great time and thanks to Josh, Gav, Richard and Damien for getting me running, feeding me, getting me there and organising accommodation and great company.
Edit: I have since learned about the nd4spd pass. Amazing! From the timing of the Facebook posts that was at almost 5pm?

Had an awesome time, cheers to the organisers and staff/voulenteers!
The pub was cracking on Sat night, no trouble down at the camp site on Fri or Sat night and you fellas commentators made me laugh on many occasions.
Cheers, Toretto!

Had a wicked weekend, mainly because my valve springs remained intact this year :D Huge thanks to the organisers, the volunteers and to everyone involved from Wyalkatchem.
Also, in the space of a few lazy hours this arvo my car is spotless again. Dust ≠ an excuse to not enter.

...so I honestly think the heat was hurting results.
I had ~70deg intake temps so I'd say yes, the heat was hurting results lol.
Fantastic weekend. Really did not expect to have as much fun as I did. Cheers to all involved.
Wow what a weekend.
Will type more later.
So with all that radio activity did you find a partner, R3N? :D

Great event and kudos to the Racewars team (theres an awful lot of them and all worked hard, except Brockas i hear?)
Thanks to Josh, Gav + rest of galvsport crew for late car prep and weekend hospitality.
As for me personally, car got up, raced and back on 1 tank of fuel, economy ++
managed 209km/hr - small turbo + FMIC meant hot intake temps but still cracking good fun.

Great weekend as always, had heaps of fun so thanks to all the Racewars crew!
Thank you also to Turner and the Galvsport boys for swapping my gearbox after I snapped my input shaft grabbing 5th on Saturday afternoon (should have a video of that up tomorrow haha)
Great weekend, wish I got a crack at the 1000m run. Got carried away with the 800m runs and totally forgot about enquiring about a vmax run. Got chopped by the majority of things, but thats what happens when you bring a knife to a gunfight

I've got an axe to grind with the RW team: how could you not forsee and schedule for axe nutter removal? Oh yeah, original punster...
Yeah, good times. Sweated huge amounts today in my sauna!
Good to meet ZZ, yeah, we need to run. Also missed on running Matt and many others this morning due to busted shifter cable clip when I went for 5th on he first 800 m run while giving Mike in the camaro some hurry up. Sorted that (thanks to the man with the awsome 55 charged chev for the extra hands) and got some vmax runs in, all of which were within1km/h and .2 sec. Boring, but consistent.
Really wanted some more roll ons later today, but axe man had other ideas. As they say, there's always next year!
And how good was the final 45 or so mins of vmax showdown? I thought about doing another run, but couldn't leave trackside watching. Such great tension, and I think the right decision was made to call it when they did. Better we all go home safe.
Thanks to all the RW crew for the event. Special thanks to Tristan for no crashing my car on Saturday! Yes mate, race cars don't have brake boosters. Next time (ha!) I'll leave you a pre-flight checklist.
Ps: hope you all got back fine Matt/rusticle. You seem to have a thing for stopping on the side of the road. Soliciting?

It is amusing really. As an event we pretty much got most things on our end sorted just to be outdone by a axe wielding nutter.
Might have to write that into the regs for next year.
A highlight for me was riding shotgun in Lockies 20b cosmo. Such an angry, angry car! In fact, it was so angry that at the 400m mark, doing ~200km/h it decides to spit the tail shaft out the back of the car haha!
And they say Rotors don't have enough torque!

Yeah it is, but possibly could be better if when you view an entrant, if you click the back button, it goes straight back to where you were in the list instead of having to scroll down and search again..

Thanks to all AL crew for a great weekend. Cheers to Galvsport for lending me a left hand screw extractor for dodgy nos jet drill out. Thanks to 200mph for the 5 second hand plugs after melting mine.
Brother in law with the Red RX2 blew a tyre on a 6 wheel trailer and we had no spare so unloaded it and called in one of the ITP boys to drive the Ranger. Cheers for that.

Without causing a shit fight: was the surface as abrasive on paint jobs this year or did the extra work and prep make a huge difference.
