Hello
I`m at the stage now where I have 2 vehicles that need a new chevy heart, 69 Monaro and a FJ62 cruiser.
Been looking around at small block chevys that would just drop in(you can get 450hp 383 to your door for little over $4000) but when you compare something like a LS3 crate motor seems like a better choice.
So basically from what I can tell I need ;
An engine (crate motor I guess, how complete are they)
ECU Wiring etc
And accessories that bolt on(alt power steer....??? brackets ?? what doesn`t crate motor come with ?)
Or am I better off getting a wrecked car ?
Anyone have an engine, wiring, accessories etc etc they want to sell ?
Advice ?
Landcruiser currently has a GT4294R....will be most likely getting bolt on to the LS3 & E85 for fun !
Cheers
Justin

Talk to ssick regarding harness/ecu to fuck off what you don't need/security and all that bollocks.
What box you using?
Marks adapters might have what you need for engine mounts depending on your box setup.

Probably easier to locate an LS2 - should be able to get one with all the accessories for $4000 - $5000.

You can also get carby manifolds for LS engines, but obviously EFI has far more tuning potential

Ok so it seems a LS3 430 hp(std) or 480 or 525hp crate engine in the us is pretty good value.... ~$6k in us, however rocket here wants $9K + ship to wa !!
Anyone got a rocket account ??
I had a price quote from JEGS....they want to do DHL air @ $3750 ffFfs.
Anyone have any freight from the us hook-ups ?
Will pm ssick and see whats what.
Anyone have a alt & ps pump + brackets and shit they want to sell ?? (What bits do I need exactly ??)

Depending on room you might need to use a high-mount alternator (and aircon if you're going to run one). Easy enough, some of the US cars run them standard.

Yeah linned up a frieght company " importperfection" Perth based.
$500 + gst in customs, they supply me with a us shipping address and then 8-10 weeks later i pick up from fremantle(they do customs etc etc).
So a LS3 kit(engine, sensors harness ecu(ready for retro) sump and mounts) is coming my way.
Had a go(terse email to JEGS) and told them they are missing out on 10s of K worth of orders by thier "only want to ship $$$ insured priority air friegh" they don`t give a fuck basically. !
Holding off ordering the 2 i need for now, but if anyone else wants engine/package from jegs we could go in together and maybe get cheaper item or ship...pm me, I`m ordering asap. ~$3K cheaper than rocket etc for identicle item(rocket is a JEGS distributor!).
LS3 + Twin 6262 or gtx35r bring it on(skids....and brocken drivetrain !)

ve harness is pretty useless for conversions. better off getting a vz 6litre harness for a conversion. will save u some $$ later on
even my ve drag car will be using a vz harness.
