Clutch and Devildriver in the same show fuck to the YEAH.

Tesseract will be good to see too, though generally require various drugs and/or alcohol to take full advantage of.

After this years line-up, im disappointed.

This year was the 10th year of the festival so they stacked the lineup. Probably have to wait till the next milestone before you see another lineup like that.

No good for me unfortunately, I like a bit of metal but prefer punk and Green Day arent really that great, other than them its AFI? This used to be a punk show when it started, then it was good when it was 50/50 punk metal now its like 90% metal. I prefer a mix :/ Even if just one other band like Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger or some other band thats played in the earlier tours came back it would have just emant I would have got to enjoy them without having to run from stage to stage but oh well can't win em all.

LOL I don't remember Soundwave ever being primarily a punk show dude.

So many people complaining about the lineup not being as good as last year. 2 years in a row, they had awesome line-ups... only really to be topped by Metallica coming this year.

I like what AJ has done and is keeping Soundwave alive and not dropping out because of the lack of 'great' headlining acts he could get for the next event.

I predict - Disturbed/Godsmack to be in the next line-up(just a hunch)

When it started it used to be at the Gravity games and was mostly punk bands. Like I said I like metal and most years its been a pretty decent split between the 2 but this year has fuck all :/

The Soundwave festival originated in Perth,[2] as a smaller festival known as Gravity Soundwave within the Gravity Games.[3] The Gravity Games were held in North Perth along the Swan River, being based mainly on water-based and action sports. The event was sponsored by Vodafone in its first year, with the company reportedly committing one million dollars to the event. Gravity Soundwave provided the music side of the festival, which took place at McCallum Park alongside the Swan River.[4]
Gravity Soundwave was first introduced in the festival's first year, which was held on 14 and 15 October 2004. American pop punk band Good Charlotte effectively became the first headline act of Soundwave, when they performed in the festival's first night along with Gyroscope and One Dollar Short.[4] The following night featured Unwritten Law, Regurgitator, MxPx, Lagwagon and Last Year's Hero.[4]
The 2005 festival was again presented by Vodafone, being held on the night of 8 October. Gravity Soundwave was headlined by Grinspoon, with it also featuring American acts Unwritten Law, Reel Big Fish, and Goldfinger.[3]
The third and final year of the Gravity Games festival in Perth was moved to December 2006, instead of October. Gravity Soundwave featured American act Aiden, local Australian bands Gyroscope, Kisschasy, Parkway Drive, The Getaway Plan and New Zealanders Goodnight Nurse.[5]

Yep I remember it at mcCallum park in 2005. Left just as grindspoon started. Was never really a fan haha... Goldfinger were killer. Reel big fish was a it the disappointing.

Hopefully more punk bands are announced. Otherwise it'll be the first year since 2005 I haven't gone.

There will be no Green Day sidewaves as they are doing a 2.5 hour set at each SW too. Probably going to get a ticket anyway, just hope there's a few more acts I'd like to see in the 2nd/3rd announcements.

I admit, i was mistaken.

I never thought of Gravity as being the original Soundwave as there was joint promoters with Vodafone having a big say in what happened.
But yes, that was the 'original'

Enjoy it this year, because just like BDO, this is the last one in Perth.
