Alaskan malamute x siberian husky pups

Iv got 7 malamute x husky puppy's

Dad is black and white husky and mum is wolf grey malamute

2 black and white females (one has 1 blue/1 grey eye)
5 wolf grey female
2 wolf grey males

Just had 6 week injections. Will be ready in 2 weeks. Please if you haven't owned a husky or malamute before do some research!!

Just doing some research atm, do they required a large backyard and what is biggest size they grow too?

Also what is the temperament of the mother and father?

These dogs are bred to run and pull, so the answer is Yes they need a large backyard.

Perfect dogs if you have an unreliable car. Just hook them up to the front tow point ;)

Have owned two Border collies that are bred to run all day that have lived in a relatively small back yard. Exercised daily and enough toys to keep themselves occupied meant that they didn't ruin my backyard or get bored / fat.

Base your dog around your lifestyle / time willing to put in to it.

Doesn't matter how big your backyard is. My dog has heaps of space and he won't just walk outside and decide to do laps.

You need to take them for at least 2 walks per day and these dogs will need at least an hour each time.

The place where I originally got the mum from had a tiny back garden no bigger than a car port an she had a giant malamute and a normal sized malamute. But obviously the less space you have the more active they are gonna be. Mum is a really nice dog she gets on well wih strangers and is as daft as a brush! Dads more playful but he's abit timid with strangers but soon warms up! I wish I could keep them all!

not your type of dog... you usual doggy crack biscuits won't be enough to calm these breeds down. ;)

Having done a lot of research into these breeds myself, it's worth noting they are known for fence jumping. If they don't get enough exercise, they will take themselves for a walk. They might not bring themselves back though.

Funnily enough the malamute has got out a couple of times but that's from going through the fence... Not over it haha mum and dad have a little Maltese x an he makes a small hole then the malamute plows through, she's always come back and the husky has never followed them out even though he knows there gone!

Yeh I'm sure they don't all do it, but when I was doing a lot of reading it was a point made frequently. Just thought it was worth mentioning :D
