View Full Version : Toyota Surf Battery Not Charging?`

Yesterday my battery died so I got it push started and it all ran fine and took it for a lap around the block before leaving it idling in my driveway.
I plugged a little meter into the cigarette lighter which says that it's putting out 12v and goes up with the revs and after being stopped and left for 15 - 20minutes twice it started both times but after a few hours it failed again and now it won't even start after a decent drive (Belmont - Nollamara)

Any ideas on what could be going on?

Dropped a cell in the battery

Also should have mentioned it has dual batteries..

But if that's the case, should just mean I'm up for a new battery/s?

Ex's did the same. One battery died and one was fine. Disconnect dud and all good one one battery. Try test again one battery at a time.

until you get a new battery just use the secondary and jumper leads

Should be putting out around 14v at idle, alternator may be the issue.

Have removed the batteries and put them on charge for them to be tested tomorrow, I guess I'll find out then
