Im planning on converting my tb42 patrol to a td42.

this means ill be replacing the gas tank with a standard diesel tank.

now because its duel fuel I have a 45l fuel tank sitting under the drivers side of my car.

rather that removing it im thinking just using sender and fuel pump as a sub tank.
ill connect the main feed line from the pump back to the main tank.
obviously ill use a relay for the pump and an autometer (or similar)to read the level.

do you guys think this is a good idea or will I need to buy a diesel fuel pump just to transfer fuel to the main tank.

just chasing options from people who know a little more about diesel than I do.

Thanks for your time

Already researched this hard for a while (mine is dual fuel with the belly tank to)

This is what i was recommended by people on patrol4x4 who have done the same thing

That's pretty cool. Kinda trying to do this cheap ish. Seeing as the pump and sender are already in the belly tank. All id need to do is re route the fuel lines and run a switch/relay. Just want to know if a petrol pump will pump diesel over to the main tank
