Multiplayer AvP 2000 was the bomb!! So many good times listening to people cry like bitches while being humiliation killed when I was playing as a alien - stun jump, claw once, tail stab insta kill in the head. Loved playing lobbies with the alien evolution enabled, stalking someone for 5-10 minutes (sometimes 20+) as a face hugger made any other kills all the more worth while. Taking out heavy predators as a face hugger was most satisfying. Queen and warrior sucked though - was no fun getting stuck in walls/ceilings/crates as queen and warrior didn't fit in hidey-holes, predalien also felt too slow, nothing beat being the normal/soldier alien or the scout and running up walls, on the ceiling or flying out of a shadow opposite to the ventilation shaft that people -thought- you were hiding in.

The frustration of getting killed just as you had evolved into a scout or normal alien was completely worth it, because you knew people were shitting their pants when you did kill them and were close to rage quitting when if after killing you, they were killed by you being gibbed and/or the pool of blood you left behind. Sogud.


Oh and best of all was fucking with marine player heads by randomly playing games with their motion sensors, which you knew would make most shit their pants.


Anyway, I can only hope that the team doing this will do something along the lines of AvP 2000. Seems like they appreciate the soul of Alien, they don't see it as a cash cow franchise like Gearbox. Wiki says the game is already complete as of January but the guys behind it are spending the remaining time up to the Q4 release on testing and improvements, which if true means we should finally have another great Alien game!

Because Gearbox took the money Sega gave them for Aliens: Colonial Marines and made Borderlands with it.

Agreed f**k gearbox.
Borderlands 2 is great, but they completely screwed Aliens: Colonial Marines FFFFUUUUU!!
Disappointing because it had ridiculous potential.

AVP 2000 was super fun.
Played a few lans with mates back in the day.
I was always the alien, sooo fun.
Even if you came last, you always had the most laughs!
