Hey guys,
So I was speaking to Josh last night in regards to those that need E85 for our cars. Initial plan was to bring jerry cans to Racewars but 4-5x 20L jerrycans each could add up quick.
Josh has offered to help take them up on the flat bed but at the same time we would like to avoid having the Exxon Valdez going up there. It would be much easier to take 2-3 205l drums of United E85 up there and we were to distribute when already there. All we will need is a mechanical pump and a 20l jerry can each (or shared) to extract our own fuel. This will be a trust system so no muppets please.
Rough estimate would be each person will need ~80L. So please express interest in this thread along with the amount of liters you would need.
Please contact me and not Josh due to the fact I am the one organising this and I don't want him to be bombarded with calls whilst he is already busy. Payment will have to be BEFORE the event. Neither Josh or I would like to be out of pocket for this arrangement.
Xoxo,
Gossip Girl.

Keen. Just need to confirm if I'll have a car in time or not :-(
remember if you take 5 or more drums on one truck/vehicle you will need a dangerous goods licence, if you don't and get cuaght expect a $5000 fine,truck/vehicle impounded and licence suspended.with that amount the vehicle or truck will also need to be dangerous goods passed aswell. if you can put a couple drums on another vehicle you will be right.

He may also need a DG drivers license if he's carrying a placarded load. I will give you a table tomorrow showing what you can carry and the load marking requirements for the load.

wont need a DG license as they are package goods, Only need a DG license if one drum was over 500L.
I cart 500-1000 cylinders of gas on a B-Double each time I go out, and don't have a DG license. Will Just need to have placards up on what you are carrying.
any flamable liquid loads in packages that equal 1000 litres or more is classified as dg. im pretty sure i would know, i transport fuel for a living. 999l and under is classed as packaged load.gas is also different reqs to fuel
becuase it will be carrying petroleum and not diesel it must be plackarded 1203 flammable but only if its over that 1000l limit. also need flammable diamond on front and plackard on both sides and rear

I think we will limit to 3 drums. So the list will be. Just need confirmation on the last person. I probably won't need 100L given the fact I am only running Sunday. So the guy who misses the cut I might be able to spare 40L of allocation. Guys who are on the list can you please PM me? 100L will be roughly $150 each. It will be less and you will be refunded the difference. But at same time I would like to give Josh some $$$ for using his truck to help us transport it.
Keen list.
Sam - NoOg_sTaR = 100L
Dave - American Dave = 100L
Sharron - Mullmans = 100L
Tom - Poktrokts Mrs = 100L
Ben - 1JZVL = 100L
Possible list.
Tones = 100L?
Dab = 100L?

Gas is 250kg or lt as an aggregate value for dg bulk licence.
Still require placarding... Try telling that to the average person who picks up a 9kg bottle for the bbq.
Buckets has adg 08 been released yet? I know it was in the pipe line.
I can't remember the value for fuel.
do you mean the weight of fuel
S85FI
30-03-2014, 01:27 PM
Weight? Of fuel for DG? Im lost. Isnt there another class for DG 450kg for solids or liquids?
nope, not that im aware of. the only thing that stipulates dg or not is, if you have petrol in a tank that is capable of holding more than 999l it is classed 1203. it you have packages of flammable liquid greater than 999l then it is also classed as 1203. if you combustible to the load ie diesel, it is classed 1270.
diesel weight is roughly 850kg per 1000l
petrol is roughly 780kg per 1000l
premium is lighter again and so is e85.
the way trucks and drums are loaded it would be to much pissing around loading by weight. for example my truck can can hold 20500L of liquid but i can only carry 13.75ton

FYI Tuesday the price of E85 at United Osborne Park was $140.7 ltr and by Friday it will be back up to $1.47 ltr. Is this still going ahead as I will want to make other arrangements if its not ?
