Buckets - you can line me up an any number of events through the year. Happy to spank you wherever. Tell you what, you can have me as a passenger at RW. How's that for a top offer! I'll even set a rebuild countdown timer on your dash. In 5, 4, 3...
Tris - Yeah, and you wonder why I'm not bringing it! Can have a word in my brother's ear and check, but very unlikely you'll be allowed to drive his weapon of choice. Yeh it's gone through. What we will do is put you on the reserve list for a VMAX spot (and I can pretty much guarantee a few spots will open up before the weekend for one reason or another) and we can get the balance once we've got a spot free if that works.

Due to a deal with a major sponsor which included a number of Platinum Club spots and the strongest demand to date for Platinum Club we had significantly more applicants than we have the capacity to provide the Platinum Club package to and for what it's worth we are still most likely going to run over quota in spite of issuing a record number of PC refunds last night. I am actually hoping we have a few PC no shows over the weekend to help get us back closer to quota to be honest.
I can and will keep you in mind if for some reason we get a spare spot and I do thank you for your continued interest.

If platinum club is oversubscribed, does that also mean the rest of the event is close to capacity?
There's still a good number of spots left as we've had an unfortunate spike in the number of bonafide withdrawals (quite a few people loosing jobs and so forth which is not a good thing for our whole economy let alone the poor person involved). VMAX sold out a while ago and now the Platinum Club entry is also closed, at a guess once we do the latest updates I'd assume there's about 30ish left.
Historically we get a reasonably strong sign up rate towards the close of entries so I still hope / believe we'll at very least go close to selling out which if I'm honest we need to if we are going to see a Racewars 2016 and beyond. It's no secret that I like the rest of the team aren't willing to prop the event up financially to the extent we've done so in previous years so this year either works (or gets close enough) or 2015 is most likely it.

Well after to and fro'ing, don't want to chop up the front of the Monaro, so not going turbo atm.
Going to pull the motor from my drag car on Tuesday and have SQP set it up in the old girl, and hopefully talk him into tuning for e85 as I don't want to have to feed it on vp109 at around $10/l.
Already running external swirl pot and 044, so may need to add another 044 but will leave that to John.
TreCool - whats your thoughts on suitability of the std tank and fuel lines for this?
Tre-Cool
06-02-2015, 08:22 PM
I've not had issues with any of mine with the standard stuff. only thing that might need to be adjusted for the drag motor if your running nos? is adjust the fuel nozzle for more fuel to make up for e85's lower stoich ratio.
shouldn't be big issue either way, if it's dry shot system and not a wet kit then I imagine it's running the custom os for nitrous in which case it's probably less fucking around sorting out the fuel jet nozzle
heavyduty1340
06-02-2015, 09:25 PM
Wet system.
If it is a head fuck I will delete, but good for reducing intake temps on those hot Wylie days.
Might even run 2 tunes - one for vp109 for Racewars, and a safer tune for the street on E85 if John is happy to try both.
In all honesty, I wouldn't do 1000km a year in it aside from Antilag Fun but VP 109 is crack prices

Fuck what a day yesterday...
Day started out as a right pingpingpingping of a thing after I took the LFXX out for a 5am warm up lap prior to putting it on the truck and didn't warm the brakes up enough so it wound up not wanting to stop as it was approaching the ramps to drive it on to the truck. RIP 1 x Front bar + splitter :( But then it got fucking deluxe.
Tested khana layouts for both the original location and a back up course at the airstrip. The airstrip one got a bit silly and there will be some better photo's and video's uploaded to the page once we get it all sorted with the guys who came up and shot it for us.
The town based khana stage is tight as fuck and technical, not something where the big turbo cars with lag will stand a chance of making or staying on boost let alone a lay down good time; it's really for the response & handling focused guys. The airstrip course is more like an old school MC Motorsport style cone course with a bit of room down the strip to get some speed up like Rallysprint which helps the laggy guys a bit. The shire have said they'll take a pretty dim view of big skids in town so we'd need everyone to keep it reasonable they do realize the streets will get redecorated even if people behave so they're not being unreasonable.
Both were shit tonnes of fun and both reward handling over out and out horsepower. I got a bit excited several times during the test runs and killed a set of tyres so I'm honestly thinking if you want to go nuts during the Khana and run all weekend it may pay to bring spare wheels up so you're still compliant with the tyre regs for the drags.
Both proposed courses are going before the council soon so we'll know for sure which one is preferred shortly and then get it all sorted from there.
We've also got these chaps along for this year - http://bigfunwa.com.au/ & Skidkid is going to set up some of his racing simulators which will give the spectators some extra activities to get involved with aside from watching the racing or going for passenger laps.
If you haven't entered for fucks sake get on to it and don't miss out. There's still Standard Entries available (Khana / 400 + 800m roll on racing).

Hang on a second; so there's potentially a mini Tarmac rally course in town?
There WILL be a Khana either in town (our pick if we can get it signed off. Stand out the front of the pub and watch the cars spec) or the airstrip (a much more fun course IMO but more for the drivers and less engaging for spectators)
The whole idea is to try and engage some of the AWD and lower HP guys who have gotten scared off by the big HP guys dominating the straight line stuff. We want diversity so we need to diversify.
Cone courses are always fun. I went out with the car pegged back to just over 300 at the wheels and it was still good. Tris had a fair bit more and was doing skids everywhere and Paul in the Evo was pretending to be Ken Block... Either course is fine IMO it's still going to be good.

Nothing against galvsport at all, just it's the wrong side of Perth.

23-02-2015, 06:28 PM
We are very stringent on this as the pre event inspection is one of the key risk mitigators for the event. We usually only offer it to people outside the Perth metro are or if theres a large group of cars getting entered by another workshop we arrange for Josh to either approve the shop to do the inspections or he'll go out and check the cars off down there.
Josh has been delegated the power to make the calls here under the regulations and by default the events insurance policy so it's basically up to him if you can get dispensation or not.

Looks like 400? About 150 to 550? Not that it's not impressive with that stat anyway. My entire rev range only gets me to 430hp at the rears. Must be a battle to try and get traction! Might be giving out a few stone chips this coming April.

Check your emails tomorrow morning and if you can't find an email in your inbox then check your junk folder. If you still haven't got an email and you're expecting one go to https://www.racewars.com.au/Competitors and sign up as you're not on our entrant list. There's been heaps of failed or partial submissions (usually people putting all their details in and then fucking up the payment details) so if you think you're entered and you didn't get an email you're most likely one of the failed sign ups.

We're never going to pick a date that makes everyone happy, we take a guess at the best date we can given we have to fit it in the host town's own plans including for it's staff (we rely heavily on their works department to assist us), other events and our teams own plans for the time. My preferred solution at this stage is to not bother picking a date again so no one will have to bother themselves with inconveniences like making scruit bookings or getting time off to come race.

It's a discussion thread where the people behind the scene's are very open and upfront with the fellow forum users who wish to comment and discuss the event. There is nothing wrong or incorrect with what I said Shannon.
It's no secret people should not count on there being an RW16 or beyond; as much as many of us love the event our passion for it alone does not make it viable or a good use of our resources and time. I'm encouraging everyone I speak with including those who read this thread to get whatever needs doing done to get out there and enjoy this years event. What happens after this year will be decided in due course.
Now...
As per your emails it's getting close to tech inspection time so I'd like to encourage everyone to go over the reg's over the next few days and make sure they rock up good to go. Galvsport are flat stick at the moment but they're going above and beyond once again to help tech the vast majority of the competitor cars. They've made it very clear to us they do not have time to re tech cars that don't pass first round. We all know the tech process sucks but we can't race without it so help yourselves here guys and make sure everything is as it should be prior to your booking.
Reg's are here if anyone needs a copy - https://www.racewars.com.au/Content/Documents/Racewars%202015%20Event%20Regulations.pdf

My preferred solution at this stage is to not bother picking a date again so no one will have to bother themselves with inconveniences like making scruit bookings or getting time off to come race.
On the subject of scrut bookings Faedie tells me I need to call you about doing his inspection , email the forms and send his pack ... info@swbrakes.com.au or if you need to discuss it my number 0459 602 373 ..

I got some re003s fitted the other day in preparation as I needed fresh rubber anyway. ASG to go over the car this week, then it's off for scrutineering. So close now, should be fun!

What! Did I miss something, or has the global weather system rescinded Chaos Theory?
The caps are here and are Tocchi approved.
For those that won't be able to make RW this year, where can we purchase?
P.S:
Do you make them to suit Calabrese heads?

It's $10 bucks a night to camp... Even in a economical car it's at least 1/2 a tank of fuel there and back...
There's options in surrounding towns if campings not your thing. Cunderdin has some stuff free still I believe (30ish mins drive from Wylie)
hey bud question if i may on camping as last year i only attended sunday .

As there was a little confusion with the schedule last year, can I please confirm that the "400m heads up or roll-on drag racing" scheduled for first thing Saturday morning is actually roll-on racing and not a standing start race?

What's the process / best way to refund or transfer VMAX entry? I read somewhere that an $85 admin fee will be charged for a refund.
Both myself and a mate can't make it. I fired off an email to Jon and Contactus@racewars this morning but I dare say they're under the pump!!

I wonder if I can get the fuzz to give me an escort to the camp grounds so I don't have to leave the jeep parked at the airstrip. Unless I can find someone with a trailer nice enough to tow it to and fro for me.
I fucked up by not getting the sticker off first

Black Hulk I think as long as your driving responsibly and have your RW decals on you will be fine to drive the 5mins to the strip.. the police dont pull competitors up for inspections.. if your doing the right thing more likely to just get a wave and a smile from them. Its not like the vultures that sit outside MV or PC..

I dare say it will be any cops not from the town which will more than likely pull you up for driving the car if its outside of the yellow sticker period. The local cops are probably more concerned with people driving dangerously or orange bmw's doing burnouts outside pubs and soforth. The drive from the airstrip to the camping ground is literally a minute drive so you should be fine *
* not my fault if you get caught

I've not had time to reply to all the PM's on here / FB and via the Contact Us portal.
I have some time tomorrow night when I shift change and will reply to as many as I can as best I can.
To answer the main question people have been asking -
If you want to offload your entry for any reason we are no longer issuing any refunds (March 1st being the cut off date). You may attempt to offload your competitor entry pending us receiving their details and approving the swap. They will most likely have to inherit your vehicle inspection booking slot regardless of their own preference as there is minimal scope for change with the inspection time slots.
If anyone in here wishes to swap entrants or knows someone who does please pass this along to them.
Cheers for your patience and understanding. All of us in the event team have day jobs and other more pressing personal commitments so we can't and won't ever have the capacity to reply to everyone's queries as quickly as we would otherwise like to.
