If you're updating a V1.00 game I think it's around 10GB of patches and a monumental amount of installation time.

When i got up the other morning and saw the PS3 had turned off i assumed it had finished d/l the 89000000gb of updates

Well, I'm out. I set it to download at about midday today. Checked in an hour ago and it was 90% complete. Checked in at 8:30pm and it just said "Connection error blah blah blah". 2GB download restarted from beginning and is going ridiculously slow.

Good set of races last night gents. Had a few good runs with lachy - glad there is someone around my 'level'. Spewing I knocked Alex off of the last turn heading into the last lap of the enduro, but looking at the results, I don't think it would have made any difference to his overall points. Probably disadvantaged SJ more than anything :p

Mark no one believes you about the updates! For people who have not played in a while I would suggest planning at least 2 days before to get them all done. It might not take that long but when things go wrong it probably will...

Good fun last night, mine and Alex's brain fade on Big Willow was fairly comical. Trying to do the last 2 laps of my first stint in the Lexus on "1" tyre wear on the front left didn't work too well either :)

I did believe it Simon which is why i started the update process earlier in the week

But i think two things happened which are both fucking retarded: Firstly i think either the PS3 crashed sometime during the night i left it downloading or the auto power save cut in and switched it off (surely Sony cant be that stupid to let that happen), so that when i got up in the morning i assumed it had switched off after finishing the updates when it hadnt

Secondly, this is a new PS3 (i had to give the old one to the ex when we split...) so i had to do the whole game data transfer thing (which was a massive PITA), i think something didnt go quite right because after it downloaded and installed all the patches it started the game and then a window popped up saying it was installing (the game?) again, which took another 2 hours!

My shit driving doesn't go well with a controller that decided to Fck up mid way through the night.
Going well for a few laps, then i'd come to a corner and my controller would think i've clicked the rear view button and all the sudden i'm not turning anymore. That was frustrating.

Was good to see some new people running last week. Next time should hopefully see regulars like Damo, Poop & Intercept; and 'updated' racers Brockas & Sciflyer and a couple more means full grid.

What wheel/cockpit setup are you running? If you have killer shoulders then your defiantly need to adjust your seating position.

Nope, standard Polyphony Digital these days. Start game, patch required, close game, download patch, install patch, start game, install patch more, reboot game, find hotfix, install hotfix etc. The only way to know you've finished is to be able to access the main menu within the game itself.

Yeah I figured. Never used one but they look uncomfortable even in the photo.

For a good cockpit on a reasonable budget I'd recommended the Fanatec CSL.

My brain failed so hard in the enduro, I pit early to put on Mediums to run a long stint with the aim to run a short stints on softs at the end. I then proceeded to forget to put fuel in so I couldn't do a long stint anyway, so did 2 laps then went back in for softs, then pit twice again for another 2 sets. In the mean time I spun out a few times and failed fairly hard...

CSB; TLDR; 5 pit stops and driving like a mong doesn't work

PS. Brockas I'm disappointed you didn't enjoy my last corner at Trial mountain!

I thought the FWD would be easy to drive, but it seemed like it was more difficult than the Mustang. Much harder to maintain good mid corner momentum.

Felt a bit sorry for poopington. Had a good Enduro strategy but just needed another 1/2 lap worth of rubber. Was pretty happy with my #ricciardovettelmonza pass on Brockas on the last lap. :D Still nearly threw it away the following corner though. :eek:

So overall round positions are supposed to be sorted based on the following:
1. > Overall points
2. > then highest race finishing positions (ie most 1st's, then most 2nds' etc)
3. > then finishing order of race 1

I found the bug in the code which was breaking sort point 2 and it's now been fixed.

Overall pretty fun but it doesnt matter how hard you race, with catch-up it's pretty much anyones race until the last few corners.

I love the enduros, keeps everyone entertained and nice and close. I'd actually rather just run a second one rather than doing the Daytona and S1 stuff :)

Yeah sorry, was driving like an absolute mung last night. That attempted Tsukuba pass was a real dog act, dunno why I decided to do that - was never going to eventuate. Frustration takes hold and it all just goes to sh**.

haha yep, i was comfortably in second place a couple of corners from the finish, then the fkn freight train of punt came through and i ended up in the sand trap, finishing 5th. lachy let me past just before the line (not sure if intentional) but if so I appreciate that.
At one stage i was in 1st with a 20+ second lead, ran out of fuel down the back straight, made it into the pits just as everyone caught up. I then clawed my way back up to 2nd behind lachy, struggled to catch up to him until a fast approaching MGR from the rear passed me and i think tangled with lachy which i took advantage of. Overall pretty fun but it doesnt matter how hard you race, with catch-up it's pretty much anyones race until the last few corners.

I was pushing hard to hold that gap as much as i could and then the tyres got to that point and it was game over from there, with 2 laps to go, i didnt bother pitting. Was a wicked race to do and a fun car to drive.

My other thought was a "modified/tuned" race, you get a PP Limit and maybe even a car to use, and you can modify in anyway you see fit and if we have time at the end of the night we try them out in an enduro race? just to mix it up a bit.

Thanks for the racing guys. Results on paper were ok but had a shit of a night - been playing a good bit of Drive Club recently which is an arcade racer and coming back to GT6 I didn't lock into GT's physics very well! Frustrating.
I did like the enduro though - more exciting than the usual 25mins of blaaah and then 2 laps at the end actually trying to finish well.

So did this last round go uncompleted due to low numbers? mgr.net.au/gt6 shows that only a couple of races had points recorded.

Should finish it off in two or three weeks, after Rallysprint (and No Limits, if enough people are missing out due to No Limits).

There are other reports on GT Planet with fixed host rooms being broken for some people after patch 1.16.

I won't be running anything else unless this is fixed by PD. Don't hold your breath :/
