All brilliant races, Rossi's ability to continually adapt and develop his style to keep up with the front of the pack is amazing. Brilliant ride from Marquez to finish 7 seconds off the lead in 5th after being dead last after the first turn.
This season will be a corker.

Another race well worth getting up early for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought Rossi was lucky to win the 1st race with MM's mishap on the first lap. but he proved today that he still has it. Absolute Masterclass

Yeah it was an awesome race! Huge boost for Rossi and as he basically said in the interview after the race he's definitely going to have a good crack at the title.
June cant come around soon enough - I'll be at the Dutch TT :D
How was MM qualifying? Fark that guy is ridiculously ballsy - AND GOOD!

It is definitely shaping up for a good year between Rossi and MM.
Miller is also doing well and i don't think it will be long before he sneaks in for a top ten place.

Put Pedrosa in the bin and replace him with Miller :)
I love how MM onboards catch him sprinting back to the bike after he comes off. Got heart that kid.

Perfect attitude
Yeah, if you see a gap you go for it, otherwise what the f**k are you doing out there?
Perfect attitude
Yea shit attitude is a bit harsh, it would be extremely difficult to keep focused and also be popular, Rossi is one of the only ones that does it really well, i only wish Simoncelli was still around, i reckon he would have been another Rossi.

Stoner & Doohan were the same at the start of their careers, (Stoner didn't really change either). The Aussies who do well have to be a bit arrogant to get where they are, the nice guys don't seem to quite cut it (Vermeulen, West, Sissis, Staring etc)
They have to work extremely fucking hard and fight like shit to get noticed, we have virtually no grass roots for the sport compared to the US and Europe (Spain in particular) who have massive development programs from a very early age. You can't even race on a bitumen track here until you are 14, only MC up till then.
If he keeps his form up he's got a good chance of getting Pedrosa's ride next year. Jumping straight from Moto 3 was a smart move imo.
The Rossi/Marquez battle this year has just been blown wide open. Throw the Ducatis in the mix and it's going to be great to watch it unfold.
no point racing if you are not gunna give it a crack. i was the same in motorcross minus the mullet. if there was a hint of a gap i made it big enough for me without getting dirty/knocking someone off.

I met Miller last year at the Malaysian Moto GP and he didn't come across as arrogant at all.
He was pretty stoked about stepping upto the GP bikes and also said that he hadn't even ridden a 1000 before, so he was understandably nervous about this coming year.
So far he is doing pretty well and good luck to him.

I've resisted jumping into the fray for some time trying to resist the knee jerk reaction, as I watched the race live. I knew that I was going to need lots of additional information to make an informed opinion. Finally lots of good slow mo and technical explanation are now available from all involved parties. I'm going to ignore idiotic and abusive responses - for now.
A few key points here to discuss (as impartial as possible:)
My problem is race direction is terribly unclear and appears to contradict itself.
1 Marquez denies trying to slow Rossi down on purpose, however race direction does not agree and believes he did exactly that. This confirms Rossi's statements at the Thursday pre event press conference. However, this IS NOT against the rules. They concluded that BOTH riders are at fault, per Mike Webb. They penalise one, despite "both" being "at fault."
2 Rossi performs a wide block pass (which is allowed) then waits for Marquez to get off the line, which he never does. Marquez initially pauses, stands the bike up - Rossi confirms this with a glance and waits - Marquez does not yield to the block - Rossi checks his own line briefly and then back to Marquez again - again Marquez does not yield to the block. Rossi finally abandons the block and continues into the turn - almost simultaneously Marquez creates contact by throttling into Rossi's bike making contact with the left leg. Briefly after, Marquez crashes. There are multiple slow motion video available to substantiate this fact.
3 Race direction says there is no conclusive video evidence to support either riders claim of intention, pertaining to the "kick" despite the fact that substantial slow mo video is readily available across the internet showing Marquez creating contact and Rossi shaking off the contact; both events with eyes forward (not looking at Marquez.) This is significant because it shows intent/no intent. And it shows who actually created contact. It also shows Rossi shook of the contact by opening his hip, and slightly appearing to push. At this exact moment, Marquez front tire washes out and not at the initial moment of contact. Rossi could not have known he was pushing against Marquez's handlebar, because he was not looking at neither Marquez nor his handlebar. Race direction simply gets this wrong because they penalise the rider for irresponsible riding (creating contact and forcing another rider wide - the latter, which is NOT against the rules) and not for the "kick." They got the wrong rider for contact and block passing is actually not illegal. Whether or not pushing blindly against contact with an appendage (arm, elbow, leg) is illegal, needs to be clarified and if so, needs to be penalised.
4 Marquez was not penalised despite creating the contact and BOTH riders deemed to be at fault.
5 And finally, Lorenzo made an ILLEGAL pass under yellow and needs to be penalised.
Conclusion:
1 Unpopular as it may sound, either penalty points for Rossi should stand, with equal penalty for Marquez (3 points to the race licence and start from the back of the grid) or the whole event reevaluated under the actual factual evidence - Marquez creating contact- and interpretation to the rule pertaining to a blind push/kick reaction to contact - and a reissue of more/less points to each rider.
2 Lorenzo penalised 1 grid position for passing under a yellow flag.
Hoping to have a thoughtful discussion. Idiots will be ignored. smile emoticon

Love how he dictates it as blocking and not trying to push Marquez off his line and off track.
Blocking usually comes if the rider is behind him at the time, not side on.
Axis of Oversteer on fb shared a video that makes the case for Rossi a pretty good one - clearly there was multiple attempts by MM to force Rossi into an issue. And he does shove his head into Rossi first.
from motogp fan page
What a load of shit. At worst Marquez demonstrated poor etiquette.
That said, I don't think Rossi would've been penalised if Marquez stayed upright. But if somebody comes a cropper because you ride like a knob then you're going to pay.
Didn't see the Lorenzo incident, but if he passed under yellow I would've thought a penalty was mandatory. Unless MotoGP rules differ greatly?

My 2c, and firstly, I don't favor either one of these two over the other, infact I love them both.
Now put everyone who want's to suck Rossi's dick to one side for a moment. Because to them if he fucked Mother Teresa's corpse in the ass they would say she deserved it. And will no doubt disagree with a lot of what I say.
Rossi has ALWAYS played mind games in a big way, and has pulled off similar shit in the past. With Biaggi, Gibernau and Stoner for example.
The way I see it this all stems from a combination of battles these had this year, Argentina and Assen in particular as well as PI. Marc has a chip on his shoulder most of the season because of it, but whatever, shit like this is normal.
Rossi comes out on Thursday taking some very big shots at Marc in the press conference, clearly playing mind games. Something Rossi has often done and made many enemies along the way doing so.
Because of that Marc has gone into this race thinking fuck you, you want to be held up I'll fucking show you held up. First 6 laps Marc gives Rossi a fucking hard time, BUT, every move and pass was fair and well within the rules. Anyone who says any of those passes were too harsh fuck off as you clearly have no idea.
Rossi, having his words backfire on him want's to get clear of Marc as he clearly won't sit behind him, nor should he have to.
Pushes him VERY wide, now had he done this without staring at him he would have probably got away with it (Check out when he did the exact same thing to Gibernau in Jerez 2005 and got away with it). But he clearly lined him up, not to make him crash but to say "What the fuck are you doing" - Direct quote from Rossi.
Had he done a couple of things differently I would say yeah a bit rough but play on. But the combination of what he did was fucking terrible and deserves the penalty.
Last round being on the home turf of Dani, Jorge and Marc will be pretty spicy. No doubt Rossi will be praying for rain.

So much to say.
Rossi was silly for having shots at Marc pre-race and really started this.
I don't agree with the above post, the move just before the incident Marc pushed rossi hard and he had to get out of it. It was pretty darn dirty and could have just as easily resulted in Rossi falling.
Rossi clearly spat it and pulled a dirty move back. I doubt he had the intention to knock him off but would probably been really glad to see him out of the way.
Really sad as you never want to see a champ behave this way.
If you read the PIM, I think they made a fair call.
Lorenzo has cemented my view of what a asshole he is. Post race he watch the one incident in isolation and decides to completely pay out on his TEAM MATE to the press ! Shocking form and if I was Yamaha I'd be given him the boot.
His words nasty ... nastier then the incident in my mind.
Rossi will now have 3 Spaniards out for blood.
It seems no room for an Italian in the GP on the top four bikes which is really really sad ..... Just think back to how they treated Simoncelli ...

Has he been handed anything for that ?
i believe it was determined by race direction that the pass was done just before/as the yellows where brought out and therefore legal.

This video is very Rossi bias so don't think I am too please but if you look at the incident from beginning to end you have to agree Marc was doing the same to Rossi by going slow in turns. Rossi just made a more dramatic slow.
My view is ... mess with the bull you going to get the horns.

Lorenzo is suck a dick. To talk like that after watching the incident just once shows what an arrogant fuck he is. IMO
I'm surprised the Malaysians haven't been accused of being racists for booing Lorenzo at the podium also!
Its a shame the Championship has been marred by this incident as its been one of the best for close racing for years. It was always going to end in tears with the way they were racing and luckily it was only a soft off as the potential for a major crash was growing with each pass.
I'm hoping for rain in two weeks time.
