Although I'm looking forward to this... essentially an underground reboot, NFS the run was on Frostbite and it was shit.
So I'm not holding out that the Frostbite engine is suddenly going to be a magic bullet for this game... will look pretty though haha
I just hope it has a story line and not merely an online multiplayer game.

The disappointment level runs deep with Need for Speed.
I haven't been pleased by a NFS game in it's many iterations for a long time so why now? :P

NFS3: Hot Pursuit (Aussie edition with Holden and Ford) was so ace back in high school.
Loaned the CD to a mate, he took ages to return it - was not the Aussie version when I got it back hahaha. Must have busted the CD and had trouble trying to find a replacement!
Fave looking car in that game was the Lambo Diablo SV, blue with red SV lettering up the side. Oh and the Mercedes CLK-GTR as the best performer.
Similar to Volt_bite the new NFS games haven't excited me much. Underground was good but tried a couple after it and meh...
GRID was the last pure driving sim I really loved. Driver was cool too with the storyline aspect.

According to reviews this appears to be the case again. I was tempted to grab it, but the always online BS and short single player campaign is swaying me against it heavily.

Wait a couple weeks, pick up a cheaper second hand copy when people get bored.
Most of the new age games are shit - short campaign and then all multiplayer. I'd rather the campaign as I rarely have time to play. $100 for a game in this age is also ridiculous, regardless of any currency fluctuations, especially with the amount of DLC crap to be given out.

I'll agree with shifted there. I'm someone who used to spend at LEAST 6 hours every day gaming. Now all the games I get hyped for whether it's a new COD, elder scrolls online etc, they are all shit and I get bored after an hour. Now there's halo 5, black ops 3, SW battlefront, NFS, fallout 4 all within a couple of weeks. Still deciding whether those at $110 per pop is even worth it now. Add on a memory pack because there's 3 days of downloads and 50+gb needed for each game.

Agree with gaming.
Only game that has done that recently was Far Cry 4 and Batman Arkham Knight.
Outside of that not really.

PC version is delayed 6 months so they can uncap the 30fps console limit... LOL
At least if it's shit we'll get plenty of notice!
Instead, I'm pretty happy with Transformers Devastation right now at only $50 haha!

Witcher 3 on PC has reignited my gaming obsession and I'm back to gaming for hours happily. Time does still get split on forums and car though, plus now house building shit and visiting friends with cancer...grown up life and all that I guess.
Epic game though, first one I've bought in years and worth every penny. So many hours of gameplay and fantastic stories.

Thats a pretty generalised statement to make. I loathe FPS games (like controlling a pair of floating eyes) and don't bother with them. Though there have been some great games I have played this year, The Witcher 3, MGS 5, Until Dawn, new Assassins Creed was great. A lot of new games are usually around the $70-$90 mark (from JB HiFi - I never purchase from EB Games)
Games are a lot cheaper then car parts for us enthusiasts anyhow. Why whinge about paying $100 for a game when you just spent $3000 on a set of wanky wheels, or $100 on a meal out and a few drinks etc

I did say most, not all. I love Assassin's Creed and it is one of the few game titles I buy upon release.

where the fuck do you guys buy games from @ more than $100 a pop!?
most AAA+ titles can be had for under $70 at launch these days.
eg
Fallout 4: $59 @ jb
AC syndicate: was $51 @ target ($68 with 25% off target ebay store)
battlefront: $68 @ jb
games have never cost more to produce and I think you'll find that when you adjust for inflation they are pretty fucking cheap.

Good thing about EB games
If you smash it out in a week can take it back for full refund.
