Drift and time attack application
What is your setup, what did you use and where you got it from locally or nationally?
Did you install a surge tank for additonal safety?
I was about to purchase the RCI 12 gallon fuel cell from summit (model 1120DS) with the fuel sender, current AUD to USD is kinda shit so that put me off. It turns out to be $490AUD including shipping in which half of it is the shipping itself. On my previous R32 I didn't use anything really, just straight off the pump from the tank and had minor issues on V8 race uphill, I even made sure it never gets less than 1/2 tank before I go out. Now, the R33 requires some setup because the fuel tank is conformed into two compartments, running a surge tank setup alone disables the jet pump.
Something I'm after is:
- Plastic fuel cell
- With 0-90ohm sender
- Sumped 2 x rear bottom feed
- Vented cap, 1 return fitting
- E85 foam (which I will buy from go gear)
T.I.A
Spoken to go gear/galvsport etc?

My R33 currently uses the standard tank with a 044 in tank lifter pump to 2 x external 044 pumps to a surge tank in the boot. I run E85 and race in the Street Car class. No issues for 2 years.

If buying from u.s see if they offer free postage America wide and use ship it to. Good way to save on freight

Go-gear doesn't do E85 foam
You can only get it from Revolution racegear, the guy in the Perth store is hard to deal with so it is easier to contact Melbourne and deal with them to get it shipped here, make sure you confirm it is the stuff they supply to the V8sc guys

Surge tank won't disable jet pump....return from surge runs it.
I use a 60lt RCI cell in Torana....has sump and full of foam, under hard braking less than 3/4 full you can hear pump suck air....still needs a surge tank to work properly.

I've got a jaz but guessing the plastic tanks are all pretty much the same. A mate relied on the cap breather and the tank deformed so I run a separate breather - all good so far.

The other reason why I want to use fuel cell is so I can drain it quick after the event (I know you can just leave the pump running on stock tank but it won't scavenge all the fuel) then the car sits for another few donkey months before I can attend next event. If I can somehow sump the R33 stock plastic tank and put a drain bolt it would be bliss and run the surge tank as above.

I have a race fuel tank going in my track car, how do i wire in the fuel gauge that comes with the tank.
This type.

Wire it up to factory tank sender wire(likely a single wire signal, then ground the other wire on new tank sender) and see what you get....likely not the same resistance range as factory gauge...so it might read something if you lucky but not be correct !
Then you'll have to screw around with resistors etc to modify the signal to be useful.

Much easier to use a cut down broom handle with pen marking on 😜

^^ Use a bit of dowel, goes down a -8 fitting ;)

I use to use dowel until i snapped it off inside the tank and had to go fishing to retrieve it

Measure the resistance of the stock sender at empty and full
Measure the resistance of the new sender at empty and full
Add/remove resistors to circuit as needed.

Bumping old thread.
Not sure how long thid listi g will be up for but just bought this sucker snd wondering if anyone on here know whos it was or had it made.
Has a submerged lift pump by the looks, fuel sender and a bladder. No doubt would have cost big bux to make
Approc 100l capacity and may have come out of an evo but the person i bought it off didnt know for sure
