Well im now at 366,000klm on the VY . Still running strong and good but at this klm's its really a time bomb. Looking for a good 2nd hand engine with low klm in good condition . Prefer a cammed worked engine but i will take what i can get.

Might be worth picking up a crashed car from the auctions and parting out? Duste (?) did it on here for his Merc, pretty much ends up making you a profit if you do it right/pick up said car cheap enough.

Don't bother going to wrecked auctions.
pingpingpingpings are paying crack prices as soon as they notice it's got a v8 in it. Can buy registered vt/vx -gen3's cheaper than what the wreckers/arabs etc are buying damaged vehicles for. ~~ which leads me to why the wreckers are asking top dollar for motor's.
Honestly, just drive the vy until it dies and fuck it off, then buy another car. It's worth 2/5's of fuck all anyway.

yep hearing around the traps that prices are crazy at the auctions.
I’m going to hang onto the car as it’s done me so well and I own it outright and it has fresh paint etc .
Spend 3-6k on a 2nd hand engine or rebuilt one that would do me for another 10 yrs or get rid of it and buy another car for more $$$ that could die at anytime.
Rather get the engine done in this and be good for many years to come. I know this car back to front and love driving it. Super reliable, allot more reliable that the wrx and r32 jap cars I have had
If i didnt just buy a house i would go get a ve ss or something but on a budget now i went and bought a house

ls2 would require pulling it down to to change the reluctor wheel on the crank to suit the LS1 computer

The LS1 at Holmart is now sold out :( LSA would be mint but cant afford that.
Mods please delete this thread.... I had a chat to Mitch, best off spending the few grand extra for a brand new ls3.
Trigger box, 90mm Throttle body and injector adaptors . Should get 1k for my old ls1 still running good .
Keeping the car so going down this track then cam the ls3 later

ls2 would require pulling it down to to change the reluctor wheel on the crank to suit the LS1 computerno need to open engine up to do that, can just buy the electronic converter box
