Morning all,
With Forza 6's release date approaching, its the perfect excuse to buy an Xbox One. However I see that a new Xbox One with 1TB SSD is also soon to be released.
I have done a bit of Googling without any real success as to why the SSD equipped Xbox is superior. Any thoughts from gamers on here? Is this 'Hybrid' drive just clever marketing or will it perform better? And what's the benefit of the Elite version of the controller?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers

a 1tb SSD currently retails for ~$500 so its probably a normal hdd with a small ssd cache drive. The ssd cache will have much faster read/write times so frequently accessed data is cached on the ssd to help speed up boot and loading times.
it SHOULD perform better and lead to quicker boot up and game loading times but until it's released and people can test it there is no real way to know.

the way the xbox runs its kinda like a computer on sleep mode, turn it back on and the game returns to where it was so to speak. i.e. pause and switch off xbox mid race, fire it up and you will be back at the pause screen.

Even at 1TB it will get quickly filled.
Better off just buying whatever version suits then just buying a external drive and making that as the source for all your game installs, etc.
Seagate 5TB expansion desktop drive can be had for under $300

Should have a lot faster boot times and profile loading.
What's the price going to be? Personally my standard xbox one seems fast enough.
I like the look of the new controller though.

eb games have offered it for 299 with an elite controller if you trade in your old one which is pretty decent if you ask me.

I assume that's the old Xbox One... Not a 360?
I'm not worried about the size just the benefit of its main drive being a SSD. As stated I guess ill have to wait and see when its released and what the feedbacks like.
Cheers
