Im a BF player but i love Star wars, i was expecting big things but unfortunately ive been playing it 2 days straight and im a bit bored of it already, not being able to lay flat seems to be bugging me and its a little all over the place when playing certain maps, no squads or squad chat sucks a bit, That being said the flying is a lot easier than BF my verdict is still out ill play for a few weeks and see what happens.

Have a go at it first others may like it, its a bit frustrating as it seems to take 10 shots to kill someone and only 1 or 2 shots for me to die, it doesn't help the my latency is 230ms but i seem to do alright on BF4. Also even trying to get into a vehicle is hard 5 or 6 people all running for one ship token is a bit stupid.

Also, the game, before I commit to upgrading GPU I decided to do some reading.....it has only 4 maps? ("planets") - and yes, I know there are different game modes, and depending on the mode the section/map is different.

But c'mon, really? With fucking DLC coming in a month or so? Why not just release all the shit at once, instead of fuck all, DICE you assholes!

In all honesty why am I even surprised, since BF3 (well that was the beginning of the end), I have given up hope on all new release FPS games - they're all junk.

I suppose if you really love Star Wars and it's movies, then this money-machine does the franchise justice....but then again, by the looks of things, I'd just prefer to watch the original films again and again if I want my Star Wars fix, because I'm a picky pingpingpingping who doesn't like change and 'misses the old days when gaming was genuinely fun and about owning noobs'

Yea dont get me wrong i don't hate the game, in fact its fun just being immersed in the Starwars worlds it just has a COD feel to it, its directed to the younger market, we will see in the future what the download content is, a hardcore type server with no maps or kill cam would be cool.

Some ISPs such as mine allow you to change your ADSL profile for best ping, pretty sure iinet does it too

I bought both Battlefront and Fallout 4. So fat FO4 has fallen by the wayside as I'm having way too much fun playing Battlefront. I'm kind of hoping that that wears off a little bit in the coming weeks so that I can play a bit more FO4 as well as I really enjoyed the first 6 hours I've played of that so far, but what with a toddler and all being able to jump into a Battlefront game and wreck some faces for a little bit is a lot more accessible than FO4 storyline and trying to remember where you're up to!

Polish of the game is insane. I genuinely pity anyone who tries to play FPS on a console and expects them to look even remotely as good as even a half baked PC does with this game. My machine is 3 years old (though was high end back then) and runs everything smooth as butter on Ultra in 1080P. The visuals are ridiculously good and I've been caught out many a time stopping to stare at some dope scenery instead of paying attention to the pingpingpingpings flanking me.

Gripe though is that some of the weapons really are OP and it is very much a battle to see how much firepower you can pour into the enemy before they realize you're there. The DLT-19 is a really good example of this, I've pretty much retired this weapon for now and sticking to the DL-11 for now as it does more damage, but as soon as I get explosive shot, will be using the DLT-19 more often than not as that rate of fire is fucking epic and will wreck face.

Haven't really used any of the starfighters yet as the controls for them are FUCKING STUPID. It's overly sensitive as fuck, the banking system is shit and doesn't respond how you think it will, and it's very hard to see anything on the ground when you're flying around in general. Props to the people who actually manage to get ground kills with those fucking things! Also, can never seem to find any of the Hero tokens yet I've figured out the best way to melt the fuck out of a Hero is from a Turbolaser battery :D

Agreed, although im not very good at fps games, and I don't know if the longevity of the game will be there for me, my god it is pretty but. Your right and consoles don't have anything on the pc version for this or most games, but that's why they can cost 3-5times as much! I'm playing on high settings at 4K resolution (GTX 980 TI) and it just looks pure stunning!

What computers does everybody use, preferably wanting to know how older PC's are coping?

I am using a current gen CPU (@4ghz) and mobo, but my video cards are GTX 570 SLI (O/C slightly)....When I tested the beta, my FPS wasn't great, I prefer having something close to 120fps avg, but am thinking this isn't possible anymore - I can settle for 60fps?

Is this reasonable or am I going to have to stop being stingy and buy new graphics setup?

The biggest item you need to consider for gaming these days is the graphics card. i5's are fine for modern day gaming and providing you're running SSD's for your games they're the only other bottleneck in your system other than the video card.

I'm part of a chat that has other Aussie players so given the chance during normal times we get a decent server.

Not terribly keen on putting a lot more time into this until they fix the fucking server browser issues. Sitting there trying to get a game on Supremacy/Walker Assault/Turning Point, can last for a good 10 mins before getting onto a server. It's a real shame because the game itself is so polished and awesome, despite the lack of depth at the moment, but the server accessibility issues are fucking killing the game and EA need to fix it, fast. Last count there was only about 10,000 PC players now active with it and about 40,000 console players. That's a far-cry shorter than the several million sales they made on release.

Well and truely over this game. To be honest, IMO, it was a massive let down. The first BF was awesome, played the hell out of it. This one was lacking lot of cool and useful features. Squads being one of them.

I played it on xbone, and stopped after Jakku update. So i cant comment on whether or not its been updated since, and anything extra has been added. I felt that once you unlocked everything (guns and star cards) there was really no point in playing to get to lvl 40 and 50 just to have the scout trooper, Shadow Trooper etc.

New free DLC finally drops today via update through Origin. This ones free, the Season Pass DLC stuff starts next month sometime. For this one there's a new map and they've added some different game modes to maps which weren't available before. ALSO, and this is the best part, you can finally create PRIVATE FUCKING SERVERS for you and your friends if you want. About time they're doing something to address the server issues! Be interested to see how this goes tonight

So after another frustrating 30 mins wasted trying to get a game of ANYTHING tonight, I've come to the conclusion that Battlefront is like having a supermodel for a girfriend. It's awesome to have, BUT YOU CAN'T FUCKING DO ANYTHING WITH IT. They have improved the overall balance of weapons in the game however, so silver linings and small steps forward at least. Walker Assault is still the ONLY game mode that people are playing.

Haven't played with the new update yet, but another frustrating thing is the hackers with Walker assault now, so the only game you can get into (after 20 mins) is not worth playing.
I hopped out and managed to get a quick game of blast/team deathmatch which was pretty fun at least.
