Looking to purchase a music player for my father only requirements are ability to:

Play both .flac and MP3 formats
The Ability to add speakers 'will be used in backyard'
Buttons large enough to support someone whom spent 40yrs in panel beating with panda hands

I'd look at just loading up his s3 or getting a laptop for him but he's not technology friendly; Anything above pressing play/stop and adjusting the volume control will require a a four billion page manual in size six million font.

Cheers,

Thanks Philbo but I need something that's more stationery, like a radio/speaker setup or is the go pretty much device and docking station with speakers?

That model has built in bluetooth Marc so I would suggest that then just a decent soundbar/micro hifi? I can highly recommend the Bose Cinemate 2 setup I run it has optical in and RCA input but depending on how OCD/sound quality you would like then it may not be a option. Below is the newer version of mine (and more $$) but running my Sony Z5 through bluetooth to the TV then optical to the Brain of the Speaker setup it sounds mint. Amazing fidelity. Maybe Craig H can chime in with a few options also as he's a audiophile like myself.
