Hi guys,

Recently purchased a jdm supra with factory twin and minor mods. The guy told me the previous owner had rebuilt the turbos with steel wheels, but he said he wasn't 100% sure. Wondering if there is anyway of telling without ripping apart or upping boost and observing for turbine coming out the exhaust!. The front housing has CT20 which is obviously jdm. When you go steel wheel, can you keep the same housing or is this a give away that its not ct12 steelies.?

Currently running under 14psi..

Cheers

I doubt that you will have US CT12a steelies in the CT20a JDM housings as the US versions are smaller.
They will be either the JDM original ceramics or steel wheels in the JDM housings which is common as, normally garrett internals
Only way to know for sure is to take shit apart.
Per4manz Turbochargers in Radium St has modded heaps of CT20a's with steel wheels if it has been a Perth car, otherwise Munroe Turbo's in QLD offer a full package depending on budget.
