Hi,

This car trailer was built for low cars. I was able to get my R33 Skyline race car on it with no scrapes.

It is skinnier than usual to fit between a standard single garage door just.

It is 2,230 mm wide, internal width (guard to guard) is 1,855 mm and 5,870 mm long.

It has a winch and 5 near new tyres, disc brakes on the front axle.

It is 2.5 years old and is registered until 23.9.2016.

It has a dent in one of the guards when a mate had a loading mishap.

looking for $4,700 ono

Unless you got break away brakes it will be much less. No close up of the brakes but they look like inertia brakes. If that compliance plate says gtm or atm of 2000kg then pay load will be about 1300kg.

Que? Hydraulic inertia brakes or electric are all I've ever seen on car trailers/boat trailers and they're higher rated than 1300kg even on a single axel

Correct. In that case the ATM would be 2000kg. Minus the tare (say trailer weighed 500kg) = 1500kg payload. Very very few car trailers have break away brakes. Hire companies make you sin a waiver. Most hire trailers are good for about 1200kg payload.

The ones on this trailer look like mechanical interia therefore with a close up unlikely to be break away brakes.

Hydraulic inertia brakes aren't break away brakes. Must have break away brakes to get over 2t rating regardless of axle rating or how many axles. Some eletric brakes are. Typically if they are the trailer has a battery independent to the car. It runs the brakes when the trailer breaks away from the towing vehicle.

If you have electric break away brakes you also have a small stainless lead cable that connects to the towing vehicle. To test you have to snap pull the cable away from the trailer and a plastic pin will pull out. You will hear the electric motor instantly apply the brakes from the independent battery fitted to the trailer and the trailer if the brakes are working the trailer wheels will lock up.

You also get vacume over hydraulic break away which is old old school.

Trucks (if you ever driven them) are controlled by air pressure. Blue line is control line (foot break) and red line is supply line. If supply linedrops air pressure the brakes come on.

• Trailers having only a single axle and a GTM not exceeding 750kg do not require brakes.
Trailers of GTM over 750kg must have brakes. Trailers of GTM over 750kg and not
exceeding 2000kg must have braking on the wheels of at least one axle. Trailers of GTM
over 2000kg must have braking on all wheels.
• Over-ride brakes may be used on trailers of GTM up to and including 2000kg.
• Trailers of GTM over 2000kg must have brakes operated from the driver’s seated
position. Over-ride brakes are not permitted. These trailers must have a breakaway
system by which the brakes are automatically applied if the trailer becomes detached
from the towing vehicle.

This is why so many trailers have a 2000kg ATM. its about another 5 k for break away set up.
