I got it a while ago, plays real nice. I got it on PC with a g27 wheel. It's either hard as fuck or I'm slow as shit. Can't seem to place better than 2nd-3rd.
Yep i find it really hard haha
Definately takes getting used to. I crashed a lot at the start but am learning to dial back the pace and stay on the road.
But this is easily the best rally game for a very long time.

100% awesome game.
T300RS wheel + THR8 shifter + Audi Quattro + Pikes Peak = most fun I have had in a racing game in ages.
Ford Escort, GC8 WRX, Audi Quattro, EVO X, GR WRX... So many awesome cars. Not to mention the stages, rally cross and likes peak. Each car drives different and you have to adjust your style for each stage and the weather conditions.
Fair word of caution, you will crash a lot to start with learning the limits and physics but once you master one car, fully upgrade it and hire race engineers you will have time to buy a new car and start learning again.
Worth getting?
Opinions are subjective of course, but in my opinion it's fucking fantastic and you should definitely pick it up. Just buy from EB and return it within 7 days if you find its not to your liking.

;1287427']Fair word of caution, you will crash a lot to start with...
And so below are my first moments with DiRT Rally – literally my first runs.
Lots of crashing.
Played a couple hours. Got more used to it. Bought the Renault Alpine and had more fun (half way through vid). It was frustrating at first, but then once you adjust to the physics it's gold (and I struggled as I'm recently coming from DriveClub: the complete opposite to how you should actually drive a car. Braking hard and turning hard at the same time are the quickest way around a corner in that world...)

Might give it a gander. Project cars and forza are just not grabbing my attention anymore.

I can't play project cars anymore, and now that I have this I won't be for quite a while!

Just tried the Quattro on Pikes Peak gravel. The game is worth $80 for those two things alone :)
I've got the T300RS and a ghetto handbrake mod but I could really do with the shifter too.
Yep will be trying this, cant be any harder than learning to drift in project cars was.

Physics are infinitely better then Project Cars. PC's physics is good under racing conditions but once the car begins to slide the physics goes out the window, whereas Dirt's physics are bang on in every environment and in every car.
I am amazed at how different each car is to drive (project cars feels the same dull car with a different sound, there are a few exactions cars but mostly average) and you can actually feel the car crab walking in snowy / icey sections and you can feel the AWD hook up the front. It is inspirational to see a driving game actually be a pleasure not a pain in the ass. The force feedback on the T300 took me 1 stage to tweak it and it is spot on... I am still tinkering with in on Project Cars.
Then factor in your damage (financial and strategic), managing your crew / team (financial) and your car set up (how much do you cant to slide around) and it immerses you into the game. You fix what damage you want in the provided time, or penalties apply. You hire certain crew to decrease repair times. You change the basic or in depth vehicle set up to suit your style and conditions.
Project Cars promised all of this in the hype lead up but apart from the vehicle set ups which are vague and very very sensitive at the same time (?!?!). You spend as much time tweaking the cars as you do racing sometimes. DIRT on the other hand I tweak the diff, gears and shocks in seconds and start the next stage.
Wow thats a big claim, I never played anything that comes close to PC physics wise. Cant argue on the setup side of things though, its a fkn pain in the ass trying to setup. Controller took me weeks

Don't get me wrong PC is a huge lead forward from its competition when it came out, but DIRT is another leap forward.

Picked this up today. Highly rate it. Taking me a bit to get my fanatec csr wheel setup right with it.. highly suggest investing in a handrake if running a wheel. (Trying to handbrake using a button on the wheel is a PIA) .... going to put some more time into it and see how I go..

downloading now
on another note, any of you guys played Race Room (for PC)?
I downloaded that a couple of days ago, apparently there was a recent overhaul of the physics, i never played it before this update but i thought it was quite impressive. the force feedback in the game was probably the best i have ever found.
only sucky thing is you have to buy car and track packs separately. You can play the base game with a few cars and a couple of tracks for free though.

I have it for xbone. I have been waiting for gran turismo to buy a ps4. Seemingly i will no doubt end up skipping the ps4 altogether as the next proper gt will probably launch on a ps5.

Just picked up a g920 and thinking about buying it.

Still play it every now and then, still one of the best racing games I've played although also one of the hardest, lots of rage moments for sure.
Would be better with a wheel as I'm still struggling with a controller

I still do a few hours a month, content is getting a bit boring, developers have stopped updating the game and there are no dlc. There is speculation that Dirt rally 2 might be in the pipe line.

Anyone else using the G920? Brake pedal feels super hard!!! standing on it barely pulls any cars up. Feels like i am going to snap my brake pedal in half
