Or his just fitted big solid roller cam will give him the top end to shut me down. In any case we're both off to tow back his new toy from Brisbane to Albany next week. So there will be 4-5 days solid of trash talk going down on the road trip about who will swing the biggest RW donk. If the 40 is gone and replaced with the new car, it will be a most excellent substitute. Depends if it gets built in time. Either way, he is winning at awesome car builds lately.

The list has well over 80 people on it (still and I'm lead to believe is still growing). Just over 20 offers were made to candidates I selected. These people have been given a window of time to take up their option to enter, already some have for various reasons indicated they can't. This means there will be more offers going out once numbers are finalized and we do want to ensure we get the right number of quality cars and good spirited entrants joining us so we will work with as many people as we can to get you on the list.

The list isn't a democracy. I'm picking the people off the list on a case by case basis. Before anyone screams this "isn't fair", we're taking this approach to ensure the event as a whole is the best it can be for everyone. I'm not just selecting 1000HP GT-R's and Lambos, or friends of the event (I made offers the other night for guys with everything 1967 Mini's - Properly insane cars I've been asked not to announce yet) we've chosen to select entrants to ensure we get the diversity people want to see and capture a good cross section of the community in doing so. Everyone had a shot to enter anything they wished without question during the public entry period.

If you are a previous entrant you will be given priority, If you've got a cool story behind your car or it's different / unique you'll be given priority, If your car is off it's head and we simply gotta see it trackside you'll be given priority.

What will fuck it for you is if we get an email saying "I want to be on the reserve list. K Thx Bai" with no information about you, your car and I'd also suggest providing a reply email address is a handy if you want to be contacted ;) Help yourself by making sure you give us the best information possible to make a fair decision.

While I'm here upsetting people we're going to bring forward the decision date for Platinum Club entrants so we'll let people know if they're in PC soon. There's also going to be some rigor put on certain entrants who've selected the VMAX upgrade. It appears a good number of people didn't bother reading the regs prior to sign up and as such we will be campaigning some information across the entire entrant list to help people assess whether or not they're they're ready to run VMAX in the hope people take the logical approach before we have to take it for them.


As cool as a jet dragster is it's not doing the 1000m pass on our insurance certificate...

Tristan, Josh & the scruit team will be by the book both at the pre event inspections and also on the day. We will fail people in preference to letting them expose themselves, their fellow competitors, spectators and the event to undue risk because they can't be arsed making sure the car is fit for purpose.

We have a new partner handling the Perth inspections (Big Rock Toyota) and more vehicles than originally planned on the books. Given this I'd also warn people that getting a re-inspection slot is by no means guaranteed as they have their normal workload to contend with as well. Bart @ South West Brakes (SW Regional Partner) has a low tolerance for junk and BTG Mechanical (Albany & Great Southern Regional Partner) is flat out building cars for the event so we'd also suggest you're going to have a bad time if you rock up unprepared there as well.

Help yourselves by checking the basics yourself before you come for your inspection and all will be fine.

When i did RW13 all i got pinged on was my RR coilover was leaking, fixed no issue with a new set.

Just make sure the tyres are good, no oil leaks from the engine, no clunks from the suspension as if something loose or bushes are stuffed.

One thing I will say is that a re-inspection is not a guarantee. If your car genuinely has a small issue that's appeared within days of your inspection time, then you'll likely be granted a re-inspection and be able to compete.

If you're just pulling the piss and your car has multiple long-standing faults, you may not be given the opportunity for a re-inspection and will be unable to compete.

You've got 4+ months to sort out fluid leaks and safety issues on your car. Don't leave it until the last minute.

Don't need to worry about the windscreen. Only things like headlights, fog lights etc. I used book cover contact both previous entries and will do again.

Finally took a bit of time to go over the current entry list in detail.

A few things I found interesting based on what's currently on the list..

Among the assortment on the list there's 72 Datsun's, 38 Holdens & 38 Fords. There's 2 Bentley's and a solitary Volvo. There's a lot of old school on the list and as a result the average build year has been dragged back to 1995. There's 69 V8 powered cars and 11 powered by the triangles of impending mechanical doom including one quad rotor. There's 22 blown cars & 39 N/A; everything else is turbocharged or electric. The majority of entrants are RWD with 169 cars configured to utilize the RSA Engineering burnout pads (Plus any 32R's that wish to try their luck).

There's also some jet powered things...

In sort of related news...had the first time pleasure of flying out of Albany the other day. Has a massive tarmac taxi/park up area in front of main building and hangers, so that's a great improvement on dustwars of past. Runway was far longer than the little F25 needed to rotate and was well wide, yeah I know that's very informative!

There's a decent mix with plenty of killer cars on the list.

200MPH had they started the works to build the new RFDS building at the north of the apron and the sealed taxi way off the apron to the runway? I've not kept up with where they're at with works program they've got lined up. The strips getting a fresh top up of seal prior to the event as well so she should be primo.

Here's how things like this work.

I pour a beverage and get to work. Basically none of RW's planning has even been done sober ever since 2012 (A few years back there was a motion put to ban drinking at planning meetings, it failed) $15 USD bottles of 700ml Captain Morgan's available for sale in the "Dry Mess" isn't helping things (Buying the Coke to mix with it is more expensive). This is why shit like this goes public in here so you can do the proof reading for us. However the competitor information is only as good as what people put in. We know a good chunk of it isn't correct or is simply missing but that is what it is.

Show & Shine
In association with Shannons Insurance, Motul Racewars invites expressions of interest to join our inaugural Show & Shine competition to be held trackside at Albany Regional Airport from 9am – 3pm Sunday 5th March 2017.

The Show & Shine is open to all makes, models and styles of vehicles including bikes and prizes courtesy of Auto Glym will be awarded to the most outstanding vehicles in the following categories.

Selected entrants will receive a complementary spectator day pass for the entrant and a passenger to Motul Racewars as well as an invite to join the lunch time track parade lap. While entrants are free to leave at their leisure any time during the event we estimate that judging will be finalized by 2pm and those wishing to compete for prizes are encouraged to stay until the prize giving trackside @3pm.
We’ve not forgotten our competitors either. Motul Racewars 2017 competitors may also nominate their vehicles for judging with dispensation for any racing related patina given to competition vehicles as well as an award for the best dedicated race car.

Clark Tyres in Albany are MT Dealers and will be doing dardy deals for RW entrants. They're also going to be there on the weekend to sort out the serious guys who will need more than one set for the weekend or change tyres if you flat spot one ect ect.

I've not got exact pricing on hand but get hold of them and say you're with RW ect ect and go from there.

On the day the RW team are awesome. They generally accomadate anyone and everyone. Anyone who has done the event will agree it is excellent week3nd that is well run. The piss ups at night after are awesome and blowing 0 in the morning is also challenging.

Regardless of HP you will have a ball.

Ring Ceva - Get a spot on a truck lined up. They do runs for the dealerships in town anyways so they have car carriers on that route.

I'm not saying it's impossible however it's going to be a pain in the arse for all involved and realistically we'd prefer and encourage people who can drive their cars home every night to do so. If cars do get left at the airport it would be 100% at the owners own risk and also limited to people who can't take their car back in to town with them like this bloke...

I can see a situation where there is a mutual understanding between all involved that provided people do the right thing there will be no issue with loud, noisy, smelly race cars moving around the town to and from the events but if someone fucks up and brings issues for the event and other competitors we'll gladly assist WAPOL in anyway we can so the onus is on everyone not to fuck up. Provided we do the right thing we are strongly supported in the local community and people can't wait for us to bring the show down there so I don't envisage any issues.

Recently read about an event held in NT where for the duration of the weekend , competitors cars (even clearly not normally streetable ones) are allowed and encouraged to get out and about on certain streets during the event ,,, obeying proper road rules of course...

Something like that would be truly epic and would be a real treat for people in town seeing competition cars going to the E85 booth to fillup..........:rolleyes:

All vehicles entered including those in Cash Days & The Show & Shine will have an entrant decal (just a small windscreen sticker for CD & S&S) and we will have their details on file.

I highly doubt we've got the runs on the board / brownie points with the local cops yet to ask for that kind of discretion where non registered / non compliant vehicles are allowed to just generally lap town (although it's something I agree we'd all love to see). At best I think we can get agreement that such vehicles can be driven to and from the various events with some wiggle room for fuel stops ect ect. Provided everyone does the righty it's something that can be revisited for future events.

A "Supercruise" Parade Lap ect ect through town would be mint... All in good time.

Also for those who don't know Snowy's is on this weekend with a few WA entrants heading east once again. Snowy's is focused just on the 1000m and brings out the big boys so expect some records to get smashed once again. Adam & Angie put a lot of effort in to their event so if you're not already following their event please do and give them as much support as possible.
