thinking about upgrading our card - is this better than a Gigabyte geoforce xtreme?

OC wise they are all pretty much the same. Benefit of an AIB partner card (aftermarket/non reference) is that the cooler designs are better so they don't automatically throttle as easily when they are under heat load. You can just get an aftermarket cooler or even a closed loop water cooler unit for this card in question and still come out on top. If you're not planning on overclocking, wouldn't worry too much about it.

If you plan to SLI as well much better to go with a blower style, generally speaking. as above you can always buy a water block for it later if you want to push overclocking hard out.


Let me know I leave the country Wednesday. I have someone whose agreed to buy but his giving me the bit of a muck around, was meant to pick it up yesterday but couldn't says he def wants it and will pick it up when I return. Prefer to get rid of it before I go so I wont hold it for him if you do decide to come pick it up before I leave.

Im surprised at how cool the card runs compared to my old 980ti's.
