Gents,
I am currently working in the UK constructing a nuclear power plant in Somerset, they are chasing near on 900 steel fixers and similar numbers of other associated trades, the required skills, attention to detail and commitment to safety is hard to come by in this quantity.
I thought I would chuck this opportunity to the Antilag community, who have the experience in LNG/Mining or other major civil projects performing these roles considering the current economic climate in WA. And may want to get out for a while.
Can you get a working visa in the UK?
Look here
https://www.gov.uk/tier-5-youth-mobility/overview
And here
https://www.gov.uk/ancestry-visa/overview
Also obviously if you have a EU passport you can work here for the next few years.
Job Cliff Notes:-
£38bn project forecast to run for the next 10 years.
It is not a fly in and out of aus roster, it is you relocate yourself and work as a resident of the UK.
We are currently working on a 7 day on 3 day off 7 nights on 4 day off roster (ideal for traveling)
Usual major project stuff, pass a clean piss test, not be a muppet, have a police clearance for every country you have lived in (no major crimes in the last 5 years, no crimes pertaining to terrorism, fraud or the like)
Be able to get yourself here and be self-sufficient during the induction and mobilisation process ~4 weeks. I would suggest spend a week sorting your mobilisation paperwork out and go traveling for an initial 2-3 weeks as oppose to waiting around.
Drop me a PM if you want any further info and I’ll put you in touch with the recruitment crowd.
Construction management personnel (engineers, supervisors, project managers, construction managers, programmers, contract administrators (QS), geologists etc) with heavy Civil’s experience are also in hot demand,
Mechanical and E&I personnel probably not required for another few years.
Cheers,
