Am in the market for a new pc gaming monitor, will be used with a mid level gaming rig for battlefield and player unknown mainly. Thinking a 27inch will suffice, something like the below link
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/33670/acer-g277hl-27in-widescreen-ips-led-monitor
However I saw this 32in pop up for similar value - any thoughts?
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/37319/philips-bdm3201fd-32in-led-monitor
Otherwise is there anything else I should be looking at for the $2-300 price point? Don't want to crazy and grab a 4K monitor as it'll be wasted on me.

Was a MSY built higher end pc from 3 yrs ago, so probably pretty average now.

intel HD graphics 4600
Ye gods man, get a real graphics card first!
Here's my card compared to yours, and mine's a $300 card from like 4 years ago so is not able to run many games at full detail any more.

Hell, my SO's laptop that cost $790 all up like 4 years ago has got an Ati card!

Yep a proper GPU is now on the cards, this is going to escalate quickly.

you wont be playing any games on intel HD4600, That will barely run anything its an integrated GPU on the cpu.
Sure your pc does have a dedicated gpu as well and you just have missed it off?
pick up a gtx 1060 if you are just looking for 1080p gaming and not much more

So if you have the GPU sussed what's a good monitor for the same budget?

Yeah I'm a mong, found the build sheet of the PC and am apparently running a GEFORCEŽ GTX 780TI GAMING 3G GPU - not as half shit as first though but still not great.

Good to see you weren't ripped off on the PC then!
Never used one but get a 120Hz screen, supposed to be really enjoyable. I remember when people claimed 30FPS was enough, then when you saw and experienced 60 FPS, it was clear 30 was not enough. Same with youtube videos etc.
Need a good video card ($$) to actually make use of it and push those numbers though. Not really mid range spec any more if you are hunting 120Hz I guess, but who here wants to drive a mid performance car either... :)

For 1080p/60hz gaming a 780ti should do fine, it was the king GPU in that arena for quite some time.
Higher resolution or frequency monitors which are also much more expensive, will really need a current high end GPU to get the most out of them.
If you go down this road I'd get a Gsync/Freesync monitor for best experience, but you'll need to match your GPU brand to a monitor with the equivalent variable refresh rate technology, so AMD = FreeSync & Nvidia = G-Sync.

Yeah the more I think about it, I should be fine with a 1080p/60hz set up on a 27in screen, I doubt I'll actually use it that much so any larger/higher res would be total overkill.
Probably have no use for the 27in screen over the 24, but I've got a 27in at work now, so going to a smaller screen at home would shit me to death.

you will find the same with gsync and higher refresh rate montiors, if you have never used it you will be fine. Once you use it though it will ruin no gsync/60hz monitors forever, there will be no going back.
