G'day

Iv got a BMW X5 with a rough running engine that doesnt owe me much and a spare LS2 with a 6L80E

Looking at dropping the LS2 in (have measured it up and its heaps smaller than the 4.4i V8) but the only thing stopping me is the BMW electronics.

I'm guessing the onboard computers are going to freak out without the factory motor in place and I'm wondering if there is anyone in Perth that can help me out with it.

Planing on running the factory LS2 loom and ecu as a stand alone and if I have to just run an after market cluster for gauges.

Planing on running it just as a 2wd to make everything simpler.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Anything is do-able with LS stuff. You'll probably have to swap in a GM fbw pedal though. Just find out what the stock bwm pedal sends for signals. The gm stuff sends 2 x 0-5 signals, 1 is flipped though.

Galvsport ??

Not sure with that. Should be possible but as you have said you may have to rip out factory ECU and go aftermarket.

Yeah im planing on running the stock LS2 ECU but I was talking to someone yesterday that suggested seeing if Haltech or similar does a plug and play that would work so the 36 other computers in the vehicle dont freak out with no engine in it
