Seeing as that post is Larry related if anyone hasnt watched the last episode of Enforcer and the Dude it is all about LP. Really good viewing.

I was lucky enough to work with Larry for a few weeks - he has a data logging system for aircraft that we installed in the fire bombers. His nickname is "Larrikin Larry" and I found out why. He's a truely entertaining bloke. The home base of the bombers is Ballidu - a blink-and-miss-it town north of Wongan Hills. Boy did people come out of the woodwork when word got around the LP was in town! The pub was bristling and LP was perfectly happy to talk with people and tell his stories night afte rnight at the pub, even after continuous 12-14 hour days. A real gentleman and a real pleasure to work with.

Lol... the distaste is strong in this one.... I take it yesterday was like getting teeth pulled.... I have a 5 yo that loves mustangs so the result made his year.... he'd probably love the racing holdens to but they don't relate to his brain cause he hasn't seen one on the road in real life.......

Is it usual practice to have the Race and Practice engines sealed and thoroughly inspected after an event? Im reading that V8SCA are doing that with the DJR cars. But it could also just be a media hype given the current controversy.

They need to wipe their eyes, blow their noses and hope Holden finds a way to beat the Mustang soon and move on!

Sad to see GRM exit Supercars, it is going to change their work force and those businesses that support them.
Hopefully they find projects to continue to support their workforce in lower cost but more profitable series.
TCR is similar to the ZB Commodore as they rely on homologated parts from a single supplier, so not much work for engineers, fabricators, engine builders etc.
S5000 will help, but I guess development will be minimal so they will be the ones supplying teams homologated parts.
A lot of resumes will be updated over the weekend. :(

As a fan of the sport that's not a fair reply.

SC gave Mustang such a leg up it was ridiculous.
But they also gave the ZB one the year before.

Can't be that hard to get parity right in a control series.

Too right, it is not.

It only becomes a problem when self interested parties (V8SC board/powerbrokers) dictate that teams MUST use THESE parts from THIS supplier (kickbacks for orders generated for the power brokers behind the scenes). Not saying explicitly that is what happened here, but it isn't a stretch of the imagination either...

Gary wants to continue his company and retain all of his staff. His emotion is evident.

The way I see it;...

He told V8SC the team's contract is unviable if an amicable arrangement can not be met. The fact Gary (the GRM team with history & a solid tenure) was told no deal with no other alternatives being tabled seems to tell me enough... Gary stuck to his guns and had to walk risking a percentage of his employee's livelihoods rather than risk the whole box and die only to end up with a massive debt from a defunt company and a heap of qualified personnel (MATES) without work. Good on him if my assumptions hold any weight.

Not much on the Post-Bathurst fine and points deduction for DJRTP..

$250,000 fine ($100k suspended until 2021) for contravene of Safety Car protocol and 300 point deduction from the team. Car #21 to be bumped back to position 21, which makes it the last official finisher.

So - $150k and a sacrificial team mate can buy you a bathurst win?

People reference 888 as doing similar, but theirs was 5 seconds slower behind the pace car - not 43 seconds.
