^Interesting and no doubt would break my brain for a period of time. But I think a big reason for that bike being initially unridable is the steering gearing.
Notice that very small steering inputs result in large amounts of lock, by the time your brain realises you are turning the wrong way it's too late, the wheel is basically perpendicular to the frame.
If it was direct steering you would have a much larger chance of saving the incorrect turn and counteracting.
I think you'll find the ratio is 1:1. At 43s you can see the axis line up at around 45deg, then they show a side on of the gears and if they're not exactly the same side then they're extremely close.
3:30 shows pretty huge steering inputs for very similar wheel movements.
think that is right, having tried to ride one of these once. Like the guy on the vid said, your brain takes over to correct and you end up correcting the wrong way. what makes it look worse is that you use your body to correct as well and your hands then compensate the wrong way.Quote:

on both facebook and youtube i had videos removed because of the background music, literally within a minute of being put up.
Video was just a slideshow of family pictures i made for the family to view.
fucking pissed me off wasting all those hours and not being able to show anyone.

if they were riding single file the car would have had room to go around...
saw that video on Ch9 news tonight, they make it out like the car deliberately hunted them down and tried to run them over. Now I'm not saying what the driver did was right (leaving the scene of an accident..etc), but it's very obvious that they tried to overtake and ran out of road as there was an island approaching. That was the second car in the short video which had to quickly try and overtake them.. If the bikes weren't taking up the whole road then the cars wouldn't have to risk doing shit like that.

Your victim blaming is abhorrent. Neither car "had to" quickly try and overtake them. A car driver has run into cyclists because he is a) too impatient and or b) incapable of judging distances. Nothing to do with the cyclists riding two abreast. On roads like this it is sometimes safer to ride two abreast to force cars to wait otherwise they will often try to squeeze past when there is insufficient room.Quote:
