    2008 CJ Lancer VRX

This is a neat little car. The interior space is very good, the back seats are decently sized and supportive.

Gearshift is a little notchy, but still ok. Brakes are good.

Excellent ride/handling balance. 18inch wheels give plenty of grip. A little bit of road noise, though that's to be expected.

Steering is nice, with enough weight and feel. Does load up a little in carparks though, so can be caught out.

The engine needs to be a little stronger to suit the faux-sports image, as it's a bit wheezy for my liking. Either that or geared shorter, because it's a little tall at the moment.

Rockford Fosgate stereo with built in sub is awesome for standard. The voice activated bluetooth handsfree is also brilliant.

As fast as you can say the number, it will dial for you. Doesn't even need voice training unless you've got a strong accent.

Pricewise, it's a little steep. $29,990. The base model for $21,990 is better value for money.

Only with ASC off. But you have to use the engine's power, and not its torque. In other words, rev the crap out of it and dump the clutch.

mid life 2.4L upgrade should pep it up.
TBH, you'd be crazy not to fork out the extra for the ralliart (when it gets here) if your after something sporty. otherwise go the base model.

Friends took one for a test drive and complained about all the things you have - power/notchy box/road noise

For the price the SP23 is the better option.
    FG XR6T - 388hp - 11.7 @ 119mph - sold
    2012 Prado D4D - Stockish - sold
    2013 VDJ76r cruiser - definitely stock.....
    WL Statesman LS1 - Stock
    HR31 Coupe - Unicorn

mazda 3 sp23 is definately at the top of its class in this price bracket, really well balanced cars. still, i like the styling on this new lancer and the interior is a huge improvement.
