Great video, it actually make me sad. I've done three big trips with the intention of doing a video like that but never got the GoPro out. So many good memories would be better through video than photos

Almost inspired me to do the same when I go again in July/August! Few questions though

1) Were you finding it a chore to always be recording with the go pro as opposed to whipping out a camera and taking a few snaps?
2) How was the battery life, was it annoying to constantly recharge it? (i find my go pro doesn't last very long at all)
3) Were you using your phone with go pro app much, or just hitting the record button on the go pro for convenience?

Nah not really dude, stashed the GoPro in my pockets. I only used it for video, carried a Fuji X100T for pics.
I carried 3x batteries on my trip, put them in the wife's bag. Only used 2 per day max, I turn it off straight after I record.

Didn't use the phone app. useless for what I use it for.

I did have a Feiyu-Tech G3 GoPro stabilizer and I used this in Belgium (spa), but it fucking broke in my backpack and was left to just hand held pole for the rest of our trip.
You can notice how smooth the video is when we are walking in Brussels and running down the straight in Spa.
A normal go-pole would have been shakey as fk.
