    Superlaps - Barbagallo Raceway

Superlaps - also known throughout the world as Time Attack and Sprints is a timed based event where you can bring your street or race car to build your best time and race the clock!

Superlaps is designed to be the best way to get your car off the road and onto the track to see what it can do, and is suitable for all levels of experience from beginner to lap record holders. We have drivers enjoying all types of cars from their family car to their dedicated sprint cars.

On the night prior to the Superlaps session, there will be a 30 minute Night Happy Laps session for the entrants (street registered cars only), and the public can also participate for $20 on track from 6:00pm. Drivers briefing will be at approximately 6:45pm, to be on track at 7:00pm.

Sprint Format: 3 x 5 lap sessions minimum (not including warm up and cool down laps) with bonus sessions continuing until 11pm (time permitting).

    Requirements:

    - Racers Clubman License (can be purchased on the day or online at www.racers.world)
    - Helmet, long sleeve clothing and enclosed footwear

    How Superlaps are run:

Sign on for Superlaps opens at 5pm.

For sign on you are required to have photo I.D as well as your RACERS Clubman licence (or proof of purchase of the RACERS Clubman licence i.e confirmation email). At sign on you will be allocated a timer. The timer should be affixed to the front of your car. Cars must display numbers on them on the passenger side, if you do not have a preferred number one will be allocated to you, laminated numbers can be picked up at sign on or you can use your own sticker numbers.

You may park in the carport bays, provided there is an available spot and that the event before has finished and no longer requires them.

Driver’s Briefing for Superlaps starts at 6:45pm. All driver’s MUST attend the briefing. Drivers will get their wristband signed as proof of attending the briefing.

Groups will be displayed at the race office. These groups will let you know the running order for the event. Groups will be done based on times, however we can move you to different groups at request and the event managers discretion. If your name is not listed or if you believe you are in the wrong group, please speak to the event manager (the person who gave the briefing).

Overtaking is only allowed on the main straight. This is so that drivers can focus on improving their lap times without the worry of another car diving them on the brakes or overtaking unsafely. Blocking will be monitored by the event manager.

Superlaps is on track at 7:00pm.

Timing will be uploaded to Natsoft.

The extra license may turn people off? i know that was a factor when burnouts started moving to AASA

There was 2 sessions, 3 x 5 series points and then bonus laps. Most cars got around 20-30 laps total, one driver got 47. We ended up finishing early because everyone ran out of fuel and tyres!

Series points runs top and bonus runs bottom.

    47 laps at $160 = $3.40 per lap.
