They were very disruptive and refused to leave after being repeatedly asked, causing our staff to call 911. The Police asked the branch staff to close the branch until the protesters could be removed. Only one person asked to close an account and was accommodated.
Still doesn't explain why they detained everyone by locking them in the bank - if they're being disruptive, wouldn't you just let them leave, regardless if it's because the Police turn up?
There's one group of people from the bank saying that, and dozens and dozens of eyewitness accounts that say the opposite. The people standing inside in that video don't look to be causing mass harm.
But that's the point, they were falsely imprisoned, and then in that video, a bank staffer tries to drag that woman inside to be arrested too.
Even if they were being disorderly (and no doubt they were), it's against the law and their rights to be entrapped like that.
This is the kind of shit that has been happening in Lybia, Syria, Egypt etc etc. The only difference in the US is that no shots have been fired, yet.
